GIRL SCOUTS<br />

Girl Scouts in <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Township</strong> are for girls kindergarten through<br />

senior high, ages 5 to 17 years old. Girls earn badges, do crafts, service<br />

projects, go camping and hiking. If you or your daughter are interested in<br />

becoming a Girl Scout, contact Cindy Levengood at 233-1656, ext 1041or<br />

LOWER DAUPHIN SOCCER ASSOCIATION<br />

The Lower Dauphin Soccer Association provides youth soccer opportunities<br />

for children 4 years to 18 years of age with levels from beginners to<br />

The Lower Dauphin Soccer Association offers a fall soccer program.<br />

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION<br />

This is an association whose purpose is to promote the concept of good<br />

sportsmanship, fair play, physical growth, mental alertness, self-respect<br />

and respect for others by providing the youth of the community with recreational<br />

opportunities in baseball and softball.<br />

• Membership benefits will not extend to emergency calls that are not<br />

medically necessary. Membership benefits will not extend to nonemergency<br />

transportation by ambulance and/or wheelchair/litter van.<br />

• South Central EMS, Inc., will be permitted to continue fundraising<br />

activities with residents of <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Township</strong>, Dauphin County;<br />

including, but not limited, to an annual fund drive mailing.<br />

¹The primary geographic emergency response area for South Central Emergency Medical<br />

Services, Inc., includes Lower Paxton, West <strong>Hanover</strong>, <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong>, and the northern<br />

section of South <strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Township</strong>s; as well as the Boroughs of Middletown, Royalton,<br />

and Highspire.<br />

EAST HANOVER LIONS CLUB<br />

Business meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm<br />

in the <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Building. Dinner meetings are the fourth<br />

Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Crossroads Café.<br />

The Lions Club sponsors/participates in various community service activities:<br />

in cooperation with Lions International, the Peace Poster Contest<br />

for students ages 11-13; <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> Lions Jonas J. Walmer Scholarship<br />

of $1,000-one to a senior from each of <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> Dauphin and Lebanon<br />

Counties; baseball teams from <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> Dauphin and Lebanon<br />

Counties; supports the <strong>East</strong> <strong>Hanover</strong> Youth Football Association; and<br />

members volunteer at the Grantville Volunteer Fire Co. carnival.<br />

Collection boxes are placed within the community for collection of used<br />

eyeglasses/hearing aids. Aluminum tabs, magazines, catalogues and any<br />

type of glossy paper are collected and given to the Ronald McDonald<br />

House. Fundraisers include a 50/50 Spring Raffle, working at Hershey<br />

Park, food sales to a group of square dancers in March and again at Park<br />

Day in September.<br />

The Lions Club has available to residents the use of crutches, canes,<br />

walkers, beds and wheelchairs. Contact a member if you are in need of<br />

any of these items. The Lions Club is always seeking new members. For<br />
