Listed below are some of the key highlights of membership. The Ambulance Membership covers the patient’s costs for all emergency, medically necessary ambulance services, as allowed under state and federal laws, within the geographic primary response area¹ of South Central Emergency Medical Services, Inc., as approved by Dauphin County Emergency Management Agency. • Membership benefits are only applicable when South Central EMS, Inc., is the responding/transporting emergency medical services, (EMS) unit. 14 LOWER DAUPHIN YOUTH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION The East Hanover Youth Football Association and the South Hanover Knights have come together to form one organization, the Lower Dauphin Youth Football Association Warriors. The LD Warriors is a youth sports organization open to all Lower Dauphin School District residents offering both football and cheerleading to boys and girls ages 5-14. The fundamentals of football and cheerleading will be taught, along with important lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship and self confidence. The Association offers a 1st-2nd grade instructional program and for grades 3 thru 6 intramural and travel basketball. The Association makes having fun a top priority, as well as teaching the fundamentals of basketball. The program runs from November 1st thru February 28th. LOWER DAUPHIN SOCCER ASSOCIATION The Lower Dauphin Soccer Association provides youth soccer opportunities for children 4 years to 18 years of age with levels from beginners to premier. EAST HANOVER BASEBALL/SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION This is an association whose purpose is to promote the concept of good sportsmanship, fair play, physical growth, mental alertness, self-respect and respect for others by providing the youth of the community with recreational opportunities in baseball and softball. Membership benefits will not extend to nonemergency transportation by ambulance and/or wheelchair/litter van. • South Central EMS, Inc., will be permitted to continue fundraising activities with residents of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County; including, but not limited, to an annual fund drive mailing. ¹The primary geographic emergency response area for South Central Emergency Medical Services, Inc., includes Lower Paxton, West Hanover, East Hanover, and the northern section of South Hanover Townships; as well as the Boroughs of Middletown, Royalton, and Highspire. EAST HANOVER LIONS CLUB Business meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the East Hanover Township Building. Dinner meetings are the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Crossroads Café. The Lions Club sponsors/participates in various community service activities: in cooperation with Lions International, the Peace Poster Contest for students ages 11-13; East Hanover Lions Jonas J. Walmer Scholarship of $1,000-one to a senior from each of East Hanover Dauphin and Lebanon Counties; baseball teams from East Hanover Dauphin and Lebanon Counties; supports the East Hanover Youth Football Association; and members volunteer at the Grantville Volunteer Fire Co. carnival. Collection boxes are placed within the community for collection of used eyeglasses/hearing aids. Aluminum tabs, magazines, catalogues and any type of glossy paper are collected and given to the Ronald McDonald House. Fundraisers include a 50/50 Spring Raffle, working at Hershey Park, food sales to a group of square dancers in March and again at Park Day in September. The Lions Club has available to residents the use of crutches, canes, walkers, beds and wheelchairs. Contact a member if you are in need of any of these items. The Lions Club is always seeking new members.
