• Junk mail and envelopes
• Paper bags
• Phone books
• #1 - #7 containers and bottles with necks smaller than their bases
• Clear brown & green glass food and beverage containers
• Aluminum beverage cans
• Steel food and beverage cans
• Aerosol cans
What does NOT get recycled?
• Plastic Bags
• Food soiled material
• Plastic tubs, cups, trays and bags
• Broken Glass
• Windows, mirrors, ceramics and light bulbs
• Drinking glasses
• Aluminum foil
• Scrap metal
Containers will be provided by the Township. They will have a capacity
of 20 gallons. The first container is provided by the Township free of
charge. All recyclables can be placed in one container.
Additional containers are available at the Municipal Building during
business hours for a charge of $10.00 per container and $3.00 per lid.
Recycling containers placed for collection shall not weigh more than
fifty (50) pounds.
Collection will occur once a week on the same day at approximately the
same time as collection of MSW.

On-Lot Disposal System Management Program (OLDS)
On November 4, 1998, The Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance
98-6 which established an On-Lot Disposal System. The Township
has been divided into three separate OLDS districts. Each district is as
follows:
District #1 : Bounded on the north by I-81, on the east by the county
line, on the south by the township line, and on the west by Sand Beach
Road and Shell’s Church Road.
District #2: Bounded on the north by the township line, on the east by
the county line, on the south by I-81 and on the west by the township
line.
District #3: Bounded on the north by I-81, on the east by Sand Beach
Road and Shell’s Church Road, on the south by the township line and
on the west by the township line.
Properties in District #1 with an on-lot sewage disposal system must
have their septic tank pumped by a hauler/pumper licensed in East
Hanover Township on or before November 2, 2011 unless an exemption
was applied for and approved.

All of the licensed haulers/pumpers have the form which needs to be
completed and most will submit the correct copy to the Township office.
Check with your hauler/pumper to make certain that this is done.
