architecture is very impressive and the restaurant is so nice by the pool.” “I’m so glad
you like it here Ramon.”
Our brunch is delightful. We top it off with a creamy chocolate caramel torte.
“Oh my Gosh! This is so very delicious, Ramon!”
He spoon feeds me the chocolate torte and hazelnut ice cream.
“Delicious indeed, Michael. Are you ready for our hike in Palm Canyon?” Ramon asks.
“Oh yeah, I need to walk off some of this sugar!”
“Michael, did you know that this is the largest fan palm oasis in the Americas?”
We continue to hike through the dense
canopy of palm trees that follow the creek.
“The water level is so low in the creek
since I was here last. Four years of drought
have taken their toll.” Ramon says. “Yes,
we all need to do our part in conserving
water. Global warming is not a myth,” I add
emphatically!
We end the day with dinner on the patio at
my place.
“This meal is sublime, Michael! Thank you.”
Suddenly a loud hooting can be heard above
us. ”Michael, it’s a huge Great Horned Owl.
It’s almost two feet tall!“ “Yes Ramon, the
owl lulls me to sleep every night!” ”How
magical Michael. Such a beautiful sound.”
Entranced, we sit in the moment and listen.
