INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR FACULTY POSITIONS
1. The Institute is an autonomous body registered under Societies Act and is fully funded by the
Ministry of Human Resources Development Government of India. The Service conditions will
be governed by the statues and acts with the Rules and regulations of the institute.
2. A candidate must be a citizen of India or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizens of
India (OCI)
3. Persons already in Government Service and persons employed by Quasi-Government
Organizations, whether in a permanent, quasi-permanent or temporary capacity may send their
advance copy of application to avoid the delay. The original applications should however be
sent through proper channel within a fortnight of the closing date for receipt of applications
4. All applications should be sent to the Director, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training
& Research Chennai, Taramani, Chennai 600 113, so as to reach on or before the prescribed
closing date in the advertisement.
5. Candidates are advised to send their applications by registered /speed post.
6. (i) Any change of address given in Col .2 of the application form should at once be
communicated to the Director, NITTTR. Candidates must arrange for the re-direction of
communications to their new addresses, if necessary. The institute makes every effort to
take account of changes in candidates address but cannot accept any responsibility in this
matter.
(ii) Candidates who apply for more than one post should submit separate applications and
write a separate letter with each application. In all communications the name of post,
advertisement and item number of the post should be clearly stated otherwise they will not
be attended to.
7. (i) Candidates must submit with each application a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs.500/-
(Rs.100/- for Scheduled Caste / Tribes and Other Backward Class Candidates,) and US $
50 for PIO and OCI, as application fee. Applications not accompanied by the prescribed
fee will not be considered. In case of candidates submitting advance copy of the
applications fee must be sent with the advance copy itself, otherwise it will not be
entertained.
(ii)
The crossed Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of
Technical Teachers Training & Research, Chennai 600 113., payable at Chennai.
8. A candidate who claims to belong to one of the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or
Other Backward Classes has to submit in support of his/ her claim an attested copy of a
certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent authority (original to be
produced at the time of interview)
9. The fee once remitted with the application will not be refunded.
10. (i) Candidates should send with their applications attested copies of their degree or diploma
certificates or other certificates in support of their educational qualifications and of their
Matriculation or equivalent certificate in support of their declaration of age. If attested
copies of any of the certificate are not sent with the application, without a satisfactory
explanation for their absence having been given, the application is liable to be rejected and
no appeal against its rejection will be entertained. Originals should not be sent with the
application but should be produced at the time of Interview.
(ii)
Candidates may send copies of testimonials from persons who are well acquainted with
their work and character. They should also give the names and addresses of three
persons in India to whom references can be made.
(iii) Candidates are requested to contact the REFEREES and inform to send the letter of
reference containing statement of his opinion concerning the candidate’s competency,
character and suitability for the post applied for, directly, to the Director, National Institute
of Technical Teachers Training & Research, Chennai,. The letter of reference will be
treated as confidential.

11. A candidate found guilty of impersonation or submitting fabricated document or documents
which have been tampered with or of making statements which are incorrect or false or
suppressing material information will be disqualified and if appointed will be liable for
dismissal. In addition (s)he is liable to criminal prosecution.
12. Candidates will be paid second AC Railway (2A) fare by the shortest route to the place of
interview from the Railway Station nearest to the normal place of residence of the
candidate or from which he/she actually performs the journey within India.
13. The summoning of candidates for interview conveys no assurance whatsoever that they
will be selected
14. Candidates must be in sound physical and mental health. They must, if selected, be
prepared to undergo medical examination and satisfy medical authority as the Institute
may require.
15. No interim enquiries about the application/result will be attended to. The Institute does not
enter into any correspondence with the candidates about reasons for their non-selection
for interview / appointment
16. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least
the essential qualifications prescribed for the post. It is for candidates themselves to
ensure that they satisfy the prescribed requirements. They are also informed that in case
of receipt of large number of applications for any post, the Institute reserve the rights to
raise the minimum norms for the post suitably so as to restrict the number of candidates to
be called for interview at a reasonable level.
17. No column should be left blank
18. Candidates selected may be posted either at Headquarters at Chennai or any of its
Extension Centres at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kalamaserry or any other place in South
India depending on the requirement or transferred to any of the above places.
19. The Institute reserves the right to accept or reject and to alter the number of posts, to fill or
not to fill any or all the posts and to call or not to call the candidates for interview, without
assigning any reasons.
20. Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
21. The application form as PDF file with formatted fields may be downloaded from the
institute website www.nitttrc.ac.in . Last date of Receipt of filled in application 31 st August
2010 before 17.30 Hrs.
22. The data may also be entered directly into the fields in the application form, printed, signed
and sent with relevant enclosures by speed / registered post to the Director, National
Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research, Chennai, Taramani (PO), Chennai –
600 113. Last date of Receipt of filled in application 31 st August 2010 before 17.30 Hrs.
