The primary advantage is the ability of the society to obtain favorable contract prices from hotels. Moving the meeting to the second week will erode the ability of the Society to get these lower rates and likely raise the cost of registration and hotel room rates. I Scott Glenn moved that when the Annual Meeting begins within a few daYs of the New Year, the Executive Committee shall bring it to the attention ofjthe membership at the Annual Meeting two years prior, for discussion and a ~ecision on a possible change in meeting dates.
