Report on <strong>Akropolis</strong> <strong>Security</strong> working on SZIGET party train
from the Netherlands to Budapest, Hungary
In August 2010, for the second year now the Dutch IBSSA members – working for <strong>Akropolis</strong> <strong>Security</strong> –
were responsible for the security on two trains to Budapest, Hungary. From Amsterdam, Holland two
trains departed, having on each train appr. 900 people, who travelled with the aim to attend the Sziget
Festival in Budapest, Hungary.
Last year there were 2 trains with both 900 people on board and a disco-train in the middle.
This year there was one express / sleeping train with 900 people on board without a disco wagon. On this
train 4 security officers worked night and day. And there was also a “hippie express” with about 900
people and two disco wagons, where 5 security officers were responsible for the safety of the travellers.

The trip started on Sunday on the 8 th of August 2010.
The party-people departed and got on the trains at 4 different train stations in Holland to start their trip
to the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary.
Bags and tents were all over the station
The journey lasted 22 hours with partying and drinking in the 2 different disco wagons with more than 12
DJ’s from Holland.

During the trip to Budapest – thanks to our professional members – nothing really bad happened, only a
few people needed to be warned on the “hippie express” party train to calm down and “behave”.
Unfortunately on the way back to Holland 2 people had to be sent out of the express / sleeping train in
Germany because of bad behaviour.
<strong>Akropolis</strong> <strong>Security</strong> got many compliments from train passengers and the crew on board. Special thanks to
all the <strong>Security</strong> officers, who worked 22 hours straight on!!
