Report <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Akropolis</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Security</str<strong>on</strong>g> working <strong>on</strong> SZIGET <strong>party</strong> <strong>train</strong><br />

from the Netherlands <strong>to</strong> <strong>Budapest</strong>, Hungary<br />

In August 2010, for the sec<strong>on</strong>d year now the Dutch IBSSA members – working for <str<strong>on</strong>g>Akropolis</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Security</str<strong>on</strong>g> –<br />

were resp<strong>on</strong>sible for the security <strong>on</strong> two <strong>train</strong>s <strong>to</strong> <strong>Budapest</strong>, Hungary. From Amsterdam, Holland two<br />

<strong>train</strong>s departed, having <strong>on</strong> each <strong>train</strong> appr. 900 people, who travelled with the aim <strong>to</strong> attend the Sziget<br />

Festival in <strong>Budapest</strong>, Hungary.<br />

Last year there were 2 <strong>train</strong>s with both 900 people <strong>on</strong> board and a disco-<strong>train</strong> in the middle.<br />

This year there was <strong>on</strong>e express / sleeping <strong>train</strong> with 900 people <strong>on</strong> board without a disco wag<strong>on</strong>. On this<br />

<strong>train</strong> 4 security officers worked night and day. And there was also a “hippie express” with about 900<br />

people and two disco wag<strong>on</strong>s, where 5 security officers were resp<strong>on</strong>sible for the safety of the travellers.<br />

5 of the security officers’ group<br />

The trip started <strong>on</strong> Sunday <strong>on</strong> the 8 th of August 2010.<br />

The <strong>party</strong>-people departed and got <strong>on</strong> the <strong>train</strong>s at 4 different <strong>train</strong> stati<strong>on</strong>s in Holland <strong>to</strong> start their trip<br />

<strong>to</strong> the Sziget Festival in <strong>Budapest</strong>, Hungary.<br />

Bags and tents were all over the stati<strong>on</strong><br />

The journey lasted 22 hours with <strong>party</strong>ing and drinking in the 2 different disco wag<strong>on</strong>s with more than 12<br />

DJ’s from Holland.

During the trip <strong>to</strong> <strong>Budapest</strong> – thanks <strong>to</strong> our professi<strong>on</strong>al members – nothing really bad happened, <strong>on</strong>ly a<br />

few people needed <strong>to</strong> be warned <strong>on</strong> the “hippie express” <strong>party</strong> <strong>train</strong> <strong>to</strong> calm down and “behave”.<br />

Unfortunately <strong>on</strong> the way back <strong>to</strong> Holland 2 people had <strong>to</strong> be sent out of the express / sleeping <strong>train</strong> in<br />

Germany because of bad behaviour.<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>Akropolis</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Security</str<strong>on</strong>g> got many <strong>com</strong>pliments from <strong>train</strong> passengers and the crew <strong>on</strong> board. Special thanks <strong>to</strong><br />

all the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Security</str<strong>on</strong>g> officers, who worked 22 hours straight <strong>on</strong>!!<br />
