6.4 Dive Equipment<br />
6.4.1 Dive Equipment: Proper Care and Storage<br />
Taking proper care of your equipment and maintaining it regularly will help prevent<br />
serious malfunctions as well as increase the life span of your equipment.<br />
All Gear including snorkel, mask, fins, wet suit, SCUBA gear and underwater equipment<br />
needs to be rinsed thoroughly with fresh water at the end of each diving day. The gear<br />
then should be stored in a clean, dry area where it can drain and dry properly.<br />
6.4.2 Regulator Care<br />

• wash with anti-bacterial solution (Nonoxunal 9) to kill bacteria<br />
• Watch for roaches – they will eat the white silicon<br />
• Coil hose – wears out faster if hung<br />

• Check warranty for replacement parts<br />

• adjustable crescent wrench, small Phillips screwdriver, O-ring remover, baggie with<br />
12 extra O-rings and one extra exhaust diaphragm, zip strips, O-ring grease, “jack<br />
knife” tool kit<br />

• O-ring is missing, loose, or broken<br />
• Hole in mouth piece of regulator<br />
• Flipped diaphragm<br />
• Auto inflator is sticking<br />
