The DA series of pH and ORP electrodes
are designed to solve operational problems
when stary electrical voltage and electrical
ground loops are present in solutions.
Installation with plastic tanks and piping are
very susceptible to ground loop problems
because of the non-conductive nature of the
plastic. Motors from pumps or mixers and
even conductivity electrodes mounted near
pH and ORP electrodes can leak voltage into
the solution to be measured. This voltage
damages the reference part of electrodes
giving erroneous readings and leading to
short service life. The DA electrodes reduce
ground loop problems using a solution
ground rod that is fed into an internal batterypowered
(2 year battery life) differential
amplifier: the pH and reference electrodes
are measured against a ground electrode,
insuring a steady and stable signal. An
additional benefit of the amplifier is that it
allows long cable runs over 100m (330 ft.).
