The DA series of <strong>pH</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>ORP</strong> electrodes<br />

are designed to solve operational problems<br />

when stary electrical voltage <strong>and</strong> electrical<br />

ground loops are present in solutions.<br />

Installation with plastic tanks <strong>and</strong> piping are<br />

very susceptible to ground loop problems<br />

because of the non-conductive nature of the<br />

plastic. Motors from pumps or mixers <strong>and</strong><br />

even conductivity electrodes mounted near<br />

<strong>pH</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>ORP</strong> electrodes can leak voltage into<br />

the solution to be measured. This voltage<br />

damages the reference part of electrodes<br />

giving erroneous readings <strong>and</strong> leading to<br />

short service life. The DA electrodes reduce<br />

ground loop problems using a solution<br />

ground rod that is fed into an internal batterypowered<br />

(2 year battery life) differential<br />

amplifier: the <strong>pH</strong> <strong>and</strong> reference electrodes<br />

are measured against a ground electrode,<br />

insuring a steady <strong>and</strong> stable signal. An<br />

additional benefit of the amplifier is that it<br />

allows long cable runs over 100m (330 ft.).<br />
