TOWER (TAOT) MOBILITY SYSTEM<br />
Operating to ISO 9001, Varley Defence has<br />
been a preferred supplier of engineered<br />
products for military applications since the<br />
1980’s. Varley Defence specialises in taking<br />
projects from conceptual design through to<br />
product manufacture, qualification testing<br />
and integrated through-life support.<br />
PRODUCT OVERVIEW<br />
The TAOT Mobility System supports the<br />
deployment within Australia and overseas<br />
of an <strong>air</strong> traffic and control capability for<br />
military and civilian purposes. The <strong>system</strong><br />
is a purpose-built trailer manufactured<br />
using commercial and military off-the-shelf<br />
components. It consists of a trailer chassis,<br />
lifting <strong>system</strong>, elevating platform assembly,<br />
cabin access steps and hydraulic <strong>system</strong><br />
powered by a diesel engine.<br />
The trailer can be transported by <strong>air</strong>, road,<br />
rail and sea. Functionality for cabin <strong>mobility</strong><br />
includes the capability to on-load and offload<br />
the trailer and cabin, when separated,<br />
to and from a C130J <strong>air</strong>craft and in<br />
combination to and from a C17 <strong>air</strong>craft.<br />
The TAOT Mission System, complete with<br />
cabin, is able to accommodate three<br />
Air Traffic Control Officers and provide<br />
maximum operational flexibility by utilising<br />
modular configuration concepts. It is capable<br />
of rapid deployment and allows various<br />
levels of operational configuration.<br />
