QA 125 Quality System Design 3 Sem Hrs<br />
Introduces quality assurance methods used by manufacturing and service<br />
industries. Examines the concept of a system and identifies techniques<br />
used to reduce variation and optimize the system so it produces its<br />
intended outcome. Includes quality philosophy, statistical methods<br />
for process improvement, variation reduction methods, statistical<br />
process control and problem-solving, processes capabilities and data<br />

Prerequisite: QA 120. Demonstrates the skills to interface internal quality<br />

QA 140 Measurement Systems 3 Sem Hrs<br />
Introduces skill development in measurement analysis and measurement<br />
systems management. Emphasizes industrial measurement issues<br />
involving mechanical gauging and inspection instruments. Determines<br />
gauge and dimensional relationships along with describing the various<br />
types of industrial gauges and their usage. Explores gauge management<br />
issues and ISO 9000 requirements. Credit may be earned in either QA<br />

Prerequisite: MTH 208 Develops skill in the use of control charts to<br />
monitor processes. Selects proper control chart, constructs the control<br />
chart from process data, and analyzes it for statistical stability. Includes<br />
both attribute and variable data control charts to determine process<br />

Prerequisites: Admission to Radiography program. Concurrent<br />
enrollment in RAD 104W, RAD 105, RAD 108, RAD 110, and LW<br />
206A. Presents the basic operations of generating equipment including<br />
electrodynamics, electromagnetism, rectification, and circuitry related<br />
to the production of x-radiation. Credit may be earned in RAD 232 or<br />
RAD 100 but not both. (30-0)<br />
RAD 104W Introduction to Medical Imaging 2 Sem Hrs<br />
Prereqisite: Admission to the Radiography Program. Concurrent<br />
enrollment in RAD 100, RAD 105, RAD 108, RAD 110, and LW 206A.<br />
Provides an introduction to medical imaging and its role in patient<br />
diagnosis and care and basic imaging concepts, systems, and techniques.<br />
Includes the structure and operation of health care organizations and<br />
health care distribution. Emphasizes professional, legal, and ethical<br />

of x-radiation. Emphasizes the basic components of radiographic<br />
equipment, the characteristics of radiation, and imaging formation.<br />

emergency care procedures, infection control, patient safety and transfers,<br />

the theory and skills necessary to analyze the diagnostic quality of a<br />
radiograph and effectively manipulate exposure variables to produces<br />

methods of practice including radiation exposure standards and radiation<br />

provides the knowledge and skill necessary to perform radiographic<br />

systems. Includes image intensification and tomography. Demonstrates<br />
