NUR 115LW Maternity Nursing Lab 1 Sem Hr<br />
Prerequisite: NUR 101B or NPT 101B and NUR 101BL or NPT 101BL<br />
with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0). Concurrent enrollment in NUR 115.<br />
Provides clinical opportunities to apply the ADN roles of Provider of<br />
Care and Member within the Discipline of Nurisng in the Maternity<br />
Health Care setting and introduces the fundamental skills needed to<br />
function in the Manager of Care role. Requires a concurrent theory<br />
course (NUR 115). For successful completion, a grade of at least a “C”<br />
must be earned in this course and its concurrent theory course (lab grade<br />
will be the same as theory grade). A final grade of “F” will be assigned<br />
in both theory and lab if either course is not successfully completed.<br />
Credit can be earned in NUR 115L or NPT 115L, but not both. (0-45)<br />
NUR 115W Maternity Nursing 2 Sem Hrs<br />
Prerequisite: NUR 101B or NPT 101B and NUR 101BL or NPT 101BL<br />

115L. Presents nursing care of the childbearing family. Focuses on<br />
distinguishing normal from abnormal conditions and interventions to<br />
promote a safe, satisfying childbirth experience. Requires a concurrent<br />
lab course (NUR 115L). For successful completion, a grade of at least a<br />
“C” must be earned in this course and its concurrent lab course (lab grade<br />
will be same as theory grade). A final grade of “F” will be assigned in<br />
both theory and lab if either course is not successfully completed. Credit<br />

116LW. Presents nursing care of the child and family experiencing illness/<br />
hospitalization. Emphasis on principles of growth and development,<br />
and biopsychosocial needs of clients from infancy through adolescence.<br />
Requires a concurrent lab course (NUR 116L). For successful completion,<br />
a grade of at least a “C” must be earned in both this course and its<br />
concurrent lab course (lab grade will be same as theory grade). A final<br />
grade of “F” will be assigned in both theory and lab if either course is<br />
not successfully completed. Credit can be earned in NUR 116 or NPT<br />

Pre-requisite: NUR 115, NUR 116, and NUR 119 or NPT 115, NPT 116,<br />
and NPT 119 and NUR 115L, NUR 116L, and NUR 119L or NPT 115L,<br />
NPT 116L, and NPT 119L with minimum grade of a “C” (2.0) . Applies<br />
the nursing process in caring for the adult patient and rerquires clinical<br />
application of conepts in an acute care setting. Provides opportunities<br />
to apply the ADN roles of Provider of Care, Manager of Care, and<br />
continues to build on role function as a Member within the Discipline<br />
of Nursing. This lab course has a concurrent theory course (NUR 240).<br />
For successful completion, a grade of at least a “C” must be earned in<br />
both this course and its concurrent theory course (lab grade will be same<br />
as theory grade). A final grade of “F” will be assigned in both theory<br />
and lab if either course is not successfully completed. Credit may be<br />

240L. Presents health care problems related to alterations in hematology,<br />
cardiopulmonary, endocrine, musculoskeletal gastrointestinal , renal,<br />
reproductive, perioperative, and neuro function with emphasis on critical<br />
thinking in basic to complex nursing care. For successful completion,<br />
a grade of at least a “C” must be earned in both this course and its<br />
concurrent lab course (lab grade will be same as theory grade). A final<br />
grade of “F” will be assigned in both theory and lab if either course is<br />
not successfully completed. Credit may be earned in NUR 240 or NPT<br />

in NUR 250. Provides an opportunity to enhance nursing practice<br />
skills through managing nursing care of a group of hospitalized clients.<br />
Emphasizes concepts, principles, and skills of the three ADN roles of<br />
Provider of Care, Manager of Care, and Member within the Discipline of<br />
Nursing necessary for entry level nursing practice. Requires a concurrent<br />
theory course (NUR 250). For successful completion, a grade of at least a<br />
“C” must be earned in this course and its concurrent theory course (lab<br />
grade will be same as theory grade). A final grade of “F” will be assigned<br />
in both theory and lab if either course is not successfully completed.<br />

in NUR 250L. Provides opportunities to enhance nursing practice skills<br />
through managing nursing care of a group of hospitalized clients having<br />
acute cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and multi-system dysfunction,<br />
as well as clients facing trauma, cancer, immunologic dysfunction,<br />
shock, and hemodynamic instability. Requires a concurrent lab course<br />
(NUR 250L). For successful completion, a grade of at least a “C” must<br />
be earned in this course and its concurrent lab course (lab grade will<br />
be same as theory grade). A final grade of “F” will be assigned in both<br />
