Management I<br />

Provides overview of small business and what is necessary to start a small<br />
business including small business in free enterprise, the entrepreneur,<br />
opportunities and trends, business plan, legal aspects, location, financing,<br />
organizational planning, and marketing. Assists those who are currently<br />
operating a small business. Uses case studies throughout the course.<br />
Credit may be earned in only one of the following courses: ENT 131,<br />

Prerequisites: READING LEVEL 4 or 5B and WRITING LEVEL 4 or 4B<br />
or instructor permission. Provides a legal framework for individuals<br />

including sources of law, the court system, government regulation,<br />
international trade laws, intellectual property, contracts, sales, and<br />

exist, how they are enforced, penalties for noncompliance, and practical<br />
experience in interpretation of the regulations. (Cannot be counted<br />

Involves hands-on training in the use of personal protective equipment,<br />
monitoring and sampling techniques, and decontamination techniques<br />
relative to hazardous materials in the workplace. Emphasizes rationale for<br />
following specific procedures, evaluations, relative merits of equipment<br />
and materials used. Establishes criteria for evaluation of field experience.<br />
Meets requirements of 40 hour HAZWOPER training. May be offered<br />
