Prerequisite: DRF 120. Instructs machinists, lathe operators, mill<br />

operators, and grinder operators in more in-depth treatment of working<br />

drawings, supplementary views and information, materials and processes<br />

commonly found in machining drawings. (30-0)<br />

DRF 128 Geometric Tolerancing 2 Sem Hrs<br />

Prerequisite: DRF 121 or permission of instructor. Emphasizes geometric<br />

symbols used in place of written notes on industrial drawings including<br />

datum, symbols, and other items tolerancing to the geometry of the part.<br />

Credit may be earned in either DRF 128 or SKDR 128 but not both. (30-0)<br />

DRF 257 Advanced Mechanical Design 4 Sem Hrs<br />

Prerequisites: DRF 107, DRF 128, MS 113, or permission of instructor.<br />

Focuses on individual and/or team assignments working from complex<br />

design layouts to presentation of complete sets of working drawings,<br />

including product design, piping design, welding design, and plant<br />

layout. Emphasizes the CAD/CAE system, the design process,<br />

the impact of consumer, business and government decisions on the<br />

macro economy. Includes: supply and demand analysis, measures of<br />

macroeconomic performance, money and banking, and various schools<br />

of macroeconomic thought and their policy implications. (60-0)<br />

Prerequisite: ECN 221. Studies the behavior of individual decision making<br />

units of the economy. Includes foundations of supply and demand,<br />

business behavior based on market structure, regulated business,<br />

An analysis of foreign economic systems, including the private-public<br />

mix, role of international trade, foreign solutions to common economic<br />

problems, and specific timely topics. Includes classroom lectures,<br />

individual consultation and international field of study. Expenses for<br />

field study must be borne by the student. By prior arrangement with<br />

appropriate faculty, students may also take International Studies in<br />

ED 200AW Exploratory Teaching (Elementary) 3 Sem Hrs<br />

Prerequisites: ENG 111 and ENG 112 with minimum of C+ (2.3); COM<br />

112 or COM 114 (in accordance with transfer institution requirements)<br />

with a minimum of C+ (2.3); PSY 211 and MTH 115; and a minimum of<br />

24 credits with a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA. Frequent consultation<br />

with an academic advisor regarding credits applicable to the transfer<br />

pre-ed program of choice is strongly urged. Provides aspiring elementary<br />

teachers with experience, study and discussion to enable them to make<br />

informed career decisions. Requires at least 90 hours of field work in<br />

an elementary school, plus at least 15 hours of seminar. Credit may be<br />

earned in ED 200A or ED 200B but not in both. (15-90)<br />
