of instructor. Concurrent enrollment in DMS 105. Develops knowledge<br />
and skills in basic concepts of patient care. Includes emergency<br />
care procedures, infection control, patient safety and transfers,<br />

Prerequisite: DMS 100 and DMS 105W with a “B” (3.0) grade or better.<br />
Concurrent enrollment in DMS 103, DMS 104, DMS 106, and LW 206A,<br />
with continued enrollment in DMS 105. Introduces various aspects of<br />
sonography and health care including terminology, legal and ethical<br />
issues, patient care, film presentation, imaging modalities, and human<br />

206A, with continued enrollment in DMS 105. Studies basic anatomy<br />
and physiology relating to abdominal sonography. Teaches proper<br />
scanning techniques and protocols for identifying normal and abnormal<br />
sonographic patterns. Discusses clinical signs and symptoms, along with<br />
interpretation of clinical lab tests. (45-0)<br />
DMS 104 Introduction to OB/GYN Sonography 2 Sem Hrs<br />
Prerequisite: DMS 100 and DMS 105W with a “B” (3.0) grade or better.<br />

LW 206A. Discusses various aspects of OB/GYN sonography. Studies<br />
normal sectional anatomy and development, fetal assessment, normal<br />
and abnormal sonographic patterns, along with techniques and protocols.<br />

acoustic physics including a history of instrumentation, ultrasonic<br />
propagation principles, transducer parameters, and basic equipment<br />

in sonographic imaging. Teaches basic operations of the ultrasound<br />
machine along with transducer orientation. Includes an overview<br />
of abdominal and pelvis imaging, scan plane recognition, and basic<br />

critical to their success in the DMS program. Demonstrates and practices<br />
strategies in test taking, textbook reading, memory, and thinking critically.<br />
Identifies DMS expectations and explores college resources and life skills<br />
related to success in an occupational health program. Demonstrates and<br />
practices working in a group, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. (15-0)<br />
DMS 112 Small Parts Sonography 1 Sem Hr<br />
Prerequisites: DMS 101, DMS 103, DMS 104, and DMS 106 with a “B”<br />
(3.0) grade or better and LW 206A with a “C” (2.0) minimum grade.<br />
Concurrent enrollment in DMS 113, DMS 114, DMS 115, DMS 116,<br />
DMS 117, and LW 206B. Covers the fundamentals of superficial parts<br />
sonography. Presents basic small parts anatomy, as well as proper<br />
scanning techniques and protocols for identifying normal and abnormal<br />
