Non-Credit Programs<br />

<strong>Delta</strong> <strong>College</strong> offers a variety of classes and programs designed to meet<br />

the needs of the diverse communities it serves through non-credit classes.<br />

These classes and programs do not lead to a degree or certificate, but<br />

are designed to assist individuals with their personal and professional<br />

development.<br />

<strong>Delta</strong> views education as a lifelong process that takes place in a wide<br />

variety of environments. Classes are taught on the campus, in public<br />

schools, in industrial plants, in commercial office buildings, at <strong>Delta</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong> Centers and at other locations.<br />

The <strong>College</strong> is assisted by program advisory committees; professional,<br />

civic and church organizations; governmental agencies; business; the<br />

labor industry; and other groups in determining needs and providing<br />

education and training to the community.<br />

Financial Aid for Non-Credit Classes:<br />

Financial assistance may be available for students enrolling for LifeLong<br />

Learning short-term training program courses through the <strong>Delta</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />

Board of Trustees Grant. It is intended for individuals who are supported<br />

by some type of public assistance or those employed at a very low income<br />

level. Students must be residents of Bay, Midland, or Saginaw Counties.<br />

Funds for this grant are limited. An application should be completed at<br />

least two weeks prior to expected enrollment. Applications completed<br />

later than this may not be considered. For an application please visit the<br />

Kids <strong>College</strong><br />

Kids <strong>College</strong> is a youth development program which offers opportunities<br />

during summer for children in 3rd-6th grades. Class offerings are<br />

designed to challenge students through hands-on learning experiences.<br />

LifeLong Learning<br />

We provide anyone the opportunity to grow in knowledge and understanding,<br />

to acquire technical and professional skills, to experience<br />

new dimensions in human relations, and to develop leadership potential.<br />

Our programs and testing services are built on the philosophy<br />

that learning is never finished during the life of an individual. Our<br />

instructors and staff are committed to making the pursuit of LifeLong<br />

Learning possible in the Great Lakes Bay Region.<br />

Career Retraining<br />

Many of our Career Training courses have been offered for nearly 50<br />

years, including Phlebotomy and Health Unit Coordinator! Student<br />

success has always been our focus and we pride ourselves with our<br />

quality programming, informed instructors and community partnerships.<br />

These fast track programs classes are for individuals who want<br />

to train for a new career. Programs are from 4-15 weeks in length and<br />

are in high demand fields. Students not only receive training, they<br />

also get jobs!<br />

Continuing Education & CEU’s for Professionals<br />

Earn continuing education units (CEU’s) in your current profession,<br />

prepare for professional exams, and fulfill licensing certification<br />

requirements. All classes have been developed to be high quality,<br />

affordable and conscious of the value of your time.<br />

Personal Enrichment<br />

Whether it is building a competitive edge at work by learning new<br />

computer software, riding a motorcycle, taking interest in photography,<br />

implementing sustainability practices or maximizing your job search<br />

success; do not miss the chance to do something for yourself!<br />

General Education<br />

LifeLong Learning offers a variety of online and instructor-led courses<br />

to help individuals brush up on their basic skills. Courses offered<br />

include GED® Examination Preparation and KeyTrain® for WorkKeys<br />

Assessments.<br />

Testing Services<br />

LifeLong Learning now offers testing services for occupational certifications<br />

and licensures, as well as standardized testing services including<br />

the GED® Test, ACT® WorkKeys® Assessments and more. Please<br />

visit our website for a complete list of testing services.<br />
