Life cycle and biology
-Usually ectoparasites but sometimes may be found
partly or entirely within root tissues
= semi-endoparasite -> endoparasite.
- May be ectoparasite on young roots and endoparasite
on older roots.
- Life cycle can be 6-7 weeks.
- In high populations may damage many different crops;
grasses, cotton, pine, oak, wheat, banana, sugarcane,
corn, soybean, coffee, tea, turf and forest trees.
