Life cycle and biology
-Common on roots of many plants.
-Feed on epidermal cells in the region of root elongation
and region of root hairs
- Rarely important unless in very high numbers
such as tobacco, turf grasses, pastures, corn.
- Common in grassland and rangeland.
- Can be serious on azaleas, African violet, pines
Symptoms
Large numbers debilitate roots, tops become stunted and
chlorotic, and yield may be reduced
