Life cycle and biology<br />

-Common on roots of many plants.<br />

-Feed on epidermal cells in the region of root elongation<br />

and region of root hairs<br />

- Rarely important unless in very high numbers<br />

such as tobacco, turf grasses, pastures, corn.<br />

- Common in grassland and rangeland.<br />

- Can be serious on azaleas, African violet, pines<br />

Symptoms<br />

Large numbers debilitate roots, tops become stunted and<br />

chlorotic, and yield may be reduced<br />
