<strong>Heavy</strong> <strong>Rescue</strong><br />
Located on the eastern end of Long Island and just off the Long Island Expressway, the Yaphank Fire<br />
Department serves a diverse response area that required a rescue vehicle capable to serving multiple tasks<br />
from a single apparatus. They selected <strong>Hackney</strong> due to its unique drop/pinch frame that increased the<br />
storage capacity without increasing wheelbase and overall height and made storage and retrieval of<br />
equipment simple and fast to deploy. Following is a list of some of the major features:<br />

Low‐profile design permits 72” high compartments for increased storage capacity without exceeding overall height restrictions.<br />
Safety rails are shown at entrance to roof storage area complimenting the sliding ladder. Fold‐down auxiliary step platforms<br />
facilitate access to upper storage areas. Upper side body fixed and removable tripod flood lights supplement the 12vdc LED flood<br />
lights. A Command Light tower with six FRC flood lights in installed on the forward recessed roof.<br />

<strong>Hackney</strong>’s exclusive sliding ladder tilts outward when positioned<br />
over the roof top opening for safer roof access . Glides on nylon<br />
rollers inside a track and locks in place in receivers.<br />
