Getting started on a new job
Each new job starts with a list of input files and a blank workspace,
where you set up a press sheet on which to create the first layout.
Setting up the job workspace
1. Save any job that is already open.
2. Press COMMAND/CTRL+N to clear the workspace, file list, and press
sheet list.
3. Save the new job: From the File menu, choose Save, give it a
name, and specify where it is to be stored.
Preparing the job input files
If a job's output from Preps Ganging is to include the customer's
content, you select the job input files from a location on your computer
or network to add to a file list for the job. The original files are not
affected. If you do not work with content, or if some content files are
not yet ready, you can add file placeholders instead. You can lay out
multiple or large input files in a single Preps Ganging job, inserting
additional press sheets as needed to accommodate all of the pages
and different stock or work style requirements.
Note: Only PDF input files are supported. Support for other file
formats will be added in a future update.
Input files can include:
• Individual page files that were exported by a prepress system
• Single-page or multiple-page documents from various other
software sources
• File placeholders for a specific number and size of pages
