Release & Waiver
I understand that dance instruction requires physical exertion. I also acknowledge that injury may
result during instruction, including but not limited to as a result of physical contact with other
students, instructors, or fixed or movable objects, or the condition of the floor. I represent that I am
medically and physically able to safely participate in dance classes, workshops, rehearsals, photo
shoots and performances and to meet the physical demands thereof. I agree to assume all risks
associated with participating in dance instruction, workshops, rehearsals, photo shoots and
performances at or in connection with Broadway Dance Center. If, at any time hereafter, I have any
medical or physical limitation or condition that might affect my ability to safely participate in dance
classes, workshops, rehearsals, photo shoots or performances, or meet the physical demands required
thereof, I will make such limitations and conditions immediately known to Broadway Dance Center.
In view of the foregoing, and as a term and condition of receiving dance instruction at Broadway
Dance Center, I, for myself, my spouse, heirs, legal representatives and assigns, expressly release,
waive and discharge Broadway Dance Center, its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors,
predecessors, sponsors, legal representatives and assigns, from all present and future claims,
demands, actions, judgments, executions and liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, that now
have, ever had or may have, or claim to have, against Broadway Dance Center, its officers, directors,
employees, agents, successors, predecessors, sponsors, legal representatives and assigns, created by,
as arising out of, any dance instruction, workshop, rehearsal, photo shoot, performance or related
activity, regardless of where held or when held, even though such claim or liability may arise out of
negligence or fault on the part of any of the foregoing persons or entities, breach of contract or
otherwise, and whether for bodily injury, property damages or loss or otherwise. This release is for
the entire premises of Broadway Dance Center, including but not limited to locker rooms, studios,
bathrooms, parking areas, sidewalks, alleys, stairwells, elevators, buildings and grounds.

A Note from the Artistic Director
Dear Performers,
It’s my great pleasure to
announce the second annual
Musical Theater Performance
Project presented by
Broadway Dance Center,
where serious aspiring
performers come to study
with Broadway veterans in the heart of New York
City’s legendary theater district.
I had often dreamed of gathering the musical
theater resources of the Big Apple and tapping
into the extraordinary skills of my talented
colleagues to assemble the ultimate theater
workshop for advanced performers — a
workshop that couldn’t happen anywhere
else but here. Last summer we did just that,
with remarkable success. The concept of this
intensive is unprecedented — students take class,
rehearse, and attend discussion panels with a
comprehensive array of industry professionals
in dance, voice, and acting, then showcase what
they’ve learned in a performance for agencies
and producers who cast Broadway shows.
My associates and I are so passionate about our
craft and we’re very excited to share with you
an insider’s look at the business — we can’t wait
to watch your performance skills grow in this
workshop from great to amazing!

Our mission is to provide performers on
the cusp of a professional career the tools,
technical training, information, and networking
opportunities to break into the world of
professional Musical Theater.
PROGRAM INCLUDES
This groundbreaking intensive course, designed
for the advanced student of Musical Theater arts,
will provide you with the hands-on training and
information to become a working artist.
Students will be immersed in dance, voice, and
acting classes taught by some of Broadway’s most
successful professionals. In addition, the course will
feature seminars with industry experts to educate
students on the specifics of marketing themselves.
Studying proper technique in all genres, students
learn repertory from past, current, and upcoming
Broadway shows, participate in discussion panels on
the business (including finding an agent, auditioning
successfully, headshots and résumés, nutrition,
injury prevention, education), and more. As part of
the course, students will attend Broadway and Off-
Broadway shows, followed by question and answer
sessions with cast members.
The course will culminate with the Performance
Project showcase held in an off-Broadway theater, for
which students will spend over 25 hours rehearsing.
The audience will comprise many of the industry’s
leading talent agents, casting directors, stage
directors, and choreographers.
APPLICATION PROCESS
All applicants must be Advanced Level performers
15-25 years old.

1-2 min. of dance that displays technique and musicality.
