Should you be out when the contractor
calls, please make sure you return the
access card or phone to arrange a date
for access. The contractor will make at
least three attempts to gain access and
then a letter will be sent from us, or our
agents, requesting that you make an
appointment for the gas service.
If we are unable to gain access we will
obtain a warrant from the court under
the Environmental Protection Act to
allow us to force entry. You may be
charged for the cost of this and any
legal proceedings.
How to relight gas boiler pilot light
For wall-mounted boilers there is usually
a spy hole for you to check that the pilot
light – a glowing flame – is still lit. If you
have a back boiler behind a fire, the pilot
light is underneath the fire.
If you have any problems with the
following:
● the pilot light is not lit (relight it
following the manufacturer’s
instructions, which are usually on the
side of the boiler);
● the pilot light still does not work;
● the pilot light is lit but your heating is
not working; or
● the electronic ignition is not working.

Note – Many new appliances have
electronic ignition so have no pilot light.
