<strong>Nemexia</strong> <strong>2.0</strong>: <strong>Defense</strong> <strong>units</strong><br />
<strong>Defense</strong>s are battle <strong>units</strong>, but they are quite different from ships. The main difference is that while<br />
ships are sent on Flights in open space, <strong>defense</strong> <strong>units</strong> always remain on the <strong>Planet</strong> they are protecting;<br />
they can’t leave it. <strong>Defense</strong> <strong>units</strong> have certain characteristics which determine how powerful, resilient,<br />
etc., they are. Some types of <strong>defense</strong> have requirements, which have to be fulfilled for the <strong>defense</strong> unit<br />
to be built. Requirements like the level of the Shipyard (the Shipyard must be at least at level 1 in order<br />
for <strong>defense</strong> <strong>units</strong> to be built at all) or researched level of a certain science. Using any type of <strong>defense</strong><br />
<strong>units</strong> will surely increase the firepower of your fleet when taking the fight on your territory and it might<br />
lead you to victory.<br />
<strong>Ballistic</strong> <strong>turret</strong><br />
This is the primary source of <strong>defense</strong> for the Confederation. It's a very<br />
small <strong>turret</strong> that has a laser with enough power to destroy a transportation<br />
fleet or weak battleships. They utilize advanced ballistic technology, which<br />
improves their performance. It is easy to build and easy to destroy.<br />
<strong>Purpose</strong>: <strong>Planet</strong> <strong>defense</strong><br />
Laser <strong>turret</strong><br />
Laser <strong>turret</strong>s use special lasers that are made only for military purposes.<br />
They are an improved version of the <strong>Ballistic</strong> <strong>turret</strong>. This <strong>turret</strong> is often<br />
preferred due to its improved durability. You can use this type of <strong>defense</strong> in<br />
combination with other <strong>turret</strong>s that have more attack points.<br />

Photon cannon<br />
<strong>Purpose</strong>: <strong>Planet</strong> <strong>defense</strong><br />
A photon is an elementary particle, the quantum of the electromagnetic<br />
field and the basic "unit" of light and all other forms of electromagnetic<br />
radiation. It is also the force carrier for the electromagnetic force. These<br />
cannons use high class photons in order to defend a <strong>Planet</strong> and its<br />
inhabitants. By concentrating the photons the gun manages to produce<br />
large amounts of energy. Although this type of <strong>defense</strong> is quite powerful, it<br />
is relatively easy to destroy.<br />
Ion <strong>turret</strong><br />
An ion is an atom or molecule whose total number of electrons is not<br />
equal to the total number of protons, giving it a positive or negative<br />
electrical charge. In Ion <strong>turret</strong>s, ions with a large positive charge are used<br />
as they carry a huge amount of energy and can devastate enemy ships.<br />
<strong>Purpose</strong>: <strong>Planet</strong> <strong>defense</strong><br />
Plasma <strong>turret</strong><br />
Plasma has properties quite unlike those of solid matter, liquids, or gases<br />
and is considered to be a separate distinct state of matter. Plasma <strong>turret</strong>s<br />
use the unlimited power of this matter so they can damage even the high<br />
class battleships in order to protect the <strong>Planet</strong>. Doubtlessly, this is the best<br />
Confederate <strong>turret</strong>.<br />
<strong>Purpose</strong>: <strong>Planet</strong> <strong>defense</strong>
Turret shield<br />
The Turret shield protects the <strong>Planet</strong> from enemy attacks. It takes damage<br />
instead of your <strong>defense</strong>. It also has an espionage purpose. Having a Turret<br />
shield makes it harder for enemy spies to gather information about your<br />
<strong>Planet</strong>.<br />
If the shield is destroyed it must be repaired (for the price of 5% of its<br />
construction costs) if it is to work again.<br />

chance of spying<br />
<strong>Planet</strong> E-Field<br />
The <strong>Planet</strong> E-field protects the <strong>Planet</strong> from enemy attacks. It gets damaged<br />
instead of your <strong>defense</strong> <strong>units</strong>. It also has an espionage purpose. Having a <strong>Planet</strong><br />
E-Field makes it possible for the player to make spy checks twice as often.<br />
If the shield is destroyed it must be repaired (for the price of 5% of its<br />
construction costs and 5% of the construction time) if it is to work again.<br />

the time needed to scan for spies
