Pneumatic Open Frame Tool HX23 Bench Crimp production Press Compatibility with Existing Crimp Dies The HX23 ac com mo dates most M22520/5-XX military and Daniels “Y” series crimp dies. This affords uti li za tion of ex isting dies and interchange ability with M22520/5-01 (Daniels HX4) hand tool frames. Safety Features: • 2 Step Crimping Process • Emergency Stop Switch Full Cycle Control Full die closure is assured on ev ery crimp. The internal cycle control network will not allow the tool to open until complete closure is attained. A simple procedure is available to open the tool in cases where a complete cycle cannot be effected. A secure method is provided to prevent un au tho rized personnel from defeating the cycle control system. Hands Free Operation There are no awkward levers or mechanisms used to open or close the crimp dies. These op er a tions waste time and distract the op er a tor’s at ten tion. When the tool is in the normal condi tion, the crimp dies are fully open where contact assemblies can eas i ly be inserted. A touch of the foot valve releases the dies to a gripping po sition (spring pressure only). When the operator is sat is fied that the con tact assembly is po si tioned cor rect ly and hands are in a safe position, an other actuation of the same foot valve completes the crimp and quick ly re turns the die to the open position for removal of the crimped assembly and loading of the next parts. Mounting The HX23 is supplied with a stable bench mount with can remain unattached for portability. Or, can be mounted to a workstation by installing fasteners through the holes provided. The HX23 Production Crimp Press can be used in horizontal or vertical positions. Bench MOUNT and FOOT PRESS INCLUDED Operator Safety FEA Tures The HX23 is equipped with a transpar ent guard which affords the protection, but does not restrict vi sion. The Hands Free Op er a tion sys tem allows the operator to position the contact as sem bly while the die is un der spring pressure only. The operator is then free to let the tool hold the contact as sem bly dur ing the crimp cycle while the op er a tor’s hands and fingers are a safe distance from the crimp ing die. The HX23 foot valve as sem bly is constructed with a protective shroud to prevent accidental ac tu a tion. For operation the operator places their foot under the shroud to depress the pedal. HX23 SPECIFICATIONS Full Pneumatic oP ER A Tion Standard clean, dry shop air at the recommended pressure is all that is required to op er ate the HX23 tool. There are no elec tri cal or hy drau lic requirements. X-Die Pneumatic Tool Bench Press Style Crimp Tool PHX3 Pneumatic Tool Compatibility with Existing Crimp Dies The PHX3 accommodates all M22520/10-XX military and Daniels “X” series crimp dies. This affords total utilization of existing dies and total interchangeability with M22520/10-01 (Daniels HX3) hand tool frames. Full Cycle Control Full die closure is assured on every crimp. The internal cycle control network will not allow the tool to open until complete closure is attained. Operator Safety Features The PHX3 is equipped with a crimp cavity guard to remind users to keep fingers clear of the crimp dies. Full Pneumatic Operation Standard clean, dry shop air at the recommended pressure (100 - 120 psi) is all that is required to operate the PHX3 tool. There are no electrical or hydraulic requirements. Safety Guard not shown. A Bench Mount is Available (P/N BM-2A) Bench Press Style Open Frame Crimp Tools UDT4 & UDT3 The UDT4 & UDT3 tools have the die frame opening on the opposite side of the tool frame from the HX4 & HX3 so the tool can be used as a portable bench top press or as a hand tool. The tool frames are equipped with the same positive ratchet assembly and accept the same “Y” and “X” series dies.
