Driving and Parking on School Grounds
Please follow the instructions below and continue to exercise the utmost caution for the safety of our
students whenever driving on school grounds.
1) Walkers will continue to arrive via the Cairn Court footpath.
2) Children in Grades Kindergarten though 4 who are driven to school will utilize the
Preschool Entryway at the east end of the building. Drivers will enter school grounds via the
Glenbourne driveway and drop students off next to the entrance. A traffic monitor will assist
students. Please have children exit vehicles using the sidewalk side of the car.
3) Children in Grades 5 through 8 will continue to be dropped off near the Art Room at the west
end of the building. Drivers will enter school grounds via the Valley Road driveway. A traffic
monitor will be on duty at this location as well.
4) If your family includes children in both age ranges, please choose one entrance only and do
not drive from one end of the school to the other.
5) When picking up students after school, it is preferable for parents/guardians to park and meet
their children in the vicinity of the School Office. Older children may wait near the Art Room
end of the building, if necessary.
6) Parking: Please park in designated parking areas only, following all "no parking" and "reserved"
signs. Do not park around the circle in the front of the building as this impedes emergency
vehicles from entering and exiting the grounds. If no parking spaces are available, you are
permitted to park at the Leonard Park lot.
Keep in mind that the best way to relieve
traffic congestion is for all students
who have a bus assignment
to ride their bus to and from school!
Driving on School Grounds
The Glenbourne driveway to the school will be closed to flow-through traffic. Cars will not be allowed to
drive through the school grounds at any time during school hours.
Glenbourne driveway will be reserved for RVS buses; special education program parents and buses; and
employees who are planning to park their cars and leave after the children have been dismissed.
All students will be picked up or dropped off at the west end of the school building. (In front of the
entrance to the new addition.) If you are picking up or dropping off a small child, you may wish to park in
the main parking area and walk your child to the school to avoid confusion.
Drivers need to enter the school campus at Valley Road, bear to the right through the parking area and
wait to pick up their children at the service entrance to the school. Cars will stay in line until they reach
the area where children are waiting. After pick up they may proceed out toward Valley Road. First in will
be first out.
