UnixWare 7.1.4 OpenServer Kernel Personality (OKP) Licenses
The OKP add-on supports the installation of a full OpenServer application environment on UnixWare 7.1.4 including emulation support for most Xenix
applications in use with OpenServer today. The Lite version is a no-charge add-on which may be used to directly migrate an existing OpenServer 5.0.4
through OpenServer 5.0.7 system along with already installed applications and data files. The Full version provides a fresh OpenServer 5.0.7 image for
installation on UnixWare 7.1.4. This option is a good choice for customers who want to move a limited number of applications and also move to the latest
release of OpenServer on UnixWare

The following license are required to upgrade current UnixWare 7.1.1 and later systems to UnixWare 7.1.4. Note that upgrades to UnixWare 7.1.4 are
Edition Specific and may only be used to upgrade the matching current Edition. Updgrades may be applied directly to a running system. Trade-Ins
are also available from older UnixWare systems and from OpenServer or SCO Unix systems. A trade-in will require a fresh install of UnixWare 7.1.4.
Trade-ins may require a supporting proof of purchase for the original system. Contact your SCO Sales Office for requirements that apply in your region or
for information about trading in from competitive products.

SCO OpenServer 6 Upgrades and Trade-Ins
Upgrades: Upgrade licenses allow customers of OpenServer 5.0.7 and 5.0.6 to upgrade to OpenServer Release 6. All upgrades will require a
fresh install of OpenServer 6. In-place upgrades are not currently supported. New for OpenServer 6 is the fact that all upgrade licenses are “Edition
Sensitive” meaning that the correct license is required which corresponds to the Edition being upgraded. Two separate sets of upgrade licenses are
available; one for upgrades from OpenServer 5.0.7 systems and one for OpenServer 5.0.6 systems. All CPUs, additional users, and Development
Systems licenses will still be usable with OpenServer 6. Customers with SCO Update for OpenServer 5.0.7 will be able to use their SCO Update
licenses in place of the corresponding upgrade license. Note: When using an Upgrade license to OpenServer 6, customers will be required to enter
the current license for the system they are upgrading in addition to the Upgrade license.
Trade-Ins: All versions of OpenServer Releases 5.0.0 through 5.0.5 require a Trade-In license to bring the system current with OpenServer
Release 6. Trade-Ins from earlier releases are not available. User licenses must be traded in as well. These licenses are available under the
heading OpenServer 6 Trade-Ins. Customers with older variant 16-, 32-, 64-, 128-, and 512-User server licenses should contact their SCO
representative to have these licenses converted to the appropriate combination of OpenServer 6 User Licenses.

Current Customer Upgrades from Release 5.0.6
Upgrade: Upgrade licenses allow only customers of SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 to upgrade to SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7. All CPUs, additional
users, Optional Services components, and Development Systems will remain valid when the installation of the new license is completed.
Trade-In: SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.5, Releases 5.0.4 through 5.0.0, or any release of SCO OpenServer 3, SCO Open Desktop, SCO
UNIX, or SCO XENIX require a Trade-In license to bring the system current with SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7. User licenses, and CPU
licenses must be traded in as well. These licenses are available under the heading Current/Previous Customer Trade-Ins. Customers with older
variant 16-, 32-, 64-, 128-, and 512-User server licenses should contact their SCO representative to have these licenses converted to the appropriate

NOTE: Using an Upgrade or Trade-In license to SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7, and selecting any of the Fresh installation options, you will need
the current license for the system you are upgrading in addition to the Upgrade license. If you are using the Upgrade installation option, you only
need the Upgrade license. See Late News at http://www.sco.com/support/docs/openserver for more information.
Inter-Edition Trade-In: Customers wishing to migrate from an SCO OpenServer Desktop or SCO OpenServer Host System to the SCO OpenServer
Enterprise System must also purchase an Inter-Edition Trade-In license as well as an Upgrade or Trade-In license, to bring the system up to the
current SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7. These Trade-Ins result in a 5-User Enterprise System license. Any additional SCO OpenServer Release 5
User Licenses, CPU licenses applied to the original Host System will also apply to the Enterprise System. If trading-in from a pre-Release 5.0.7
system, the appropriate Current Customer Upgrade or Previous Customer Trade-In to Release 5.0.7 must first be purchased, for example from Host
5.0.4 to Host 5.0.7, and then to Enterprise 5.0.7.

The SCO OpenServer 6 Development System provides an updated set of compilers and tools that enable rapid development,
deployment and maintenance of applications for OpenServer 6. The compilers from the OpenServer 5.0 Development System and the
UnixWare OpenServer Development Kit (UDK) have been "married" to provide a single set of compilers capable of producing SVR5
mode or OSR5 mode ELF object files, libraries and executables.
A separate new license is required for the OpenServer 6 Development System.

This development system is only intended for the continued development of legacy applications, COFF binaries, and SCO OpenServer
5 native device drivers. For new development, one of the other development systems should be used.

The UnixWare 7.1.4 and OpenServer Development Kit (UDK) contains C and C++ compilers and the graphical debug tool that enables
the rapid development of applications for UnixWare Release 7.1.4.
This kit can be used to develop applications that can also be deployed on all prior releases of UnixWare 7. The Compatibility Modules
for SCO OpenServer continue to be supported with this development kit. The new kit can also be used to create binaries for SCO
OpenServer Release 5.0.6 and Release 5.0.7. The new UDK may be installed on a UnixWare 7.1.4, UnixWare 7.1.3, UnixWare 7.1.2
(OU8), UnixWare 7.1.1, OpenServer 5.0.6 or an OpenServer 5.0.7 system as a free upgrade if the UnixWare and OpenServer
Development Kit has been licensed on the system; otherwise a license key for the UDK will be required.
