Conquer evil with Good Romans: 12:21
We entered into yet another Great Lent season in our life. This season demands awareness, rededication, and great vision
from our life. This year we selected a theme for meditation is ������������������������������������������.It will really help us
to look into our life and correct ourselves before God.
People have desire and ready to do goodness in their lives, but not able to do properly. It is so difficult to do goodness in the
midst of worldly affairs. St. Paul teaches Conquer evil with Good. The twelfth chapter of Romans has much to say about what is
expected of Christians as In general terms �(Ro 12:1-2 ).They are to present themselves as living sacrifices to God .They are
not to be conformed to this world. They are to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. They are to prove what good,
acceptable and perfect will is. They are to fulfill their function in the body of Christ .They are to love without hypocrisy, abhorring
what is evil. They are to love brethren as family, esteeming one another highly .They are to serve the Lord diligently, with
fervency of spirit. They are to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, steadfast in prayer. They are to share in the needs of
saints, pursue hospitality toward strangers .They are to bless those who persecute them .They are to rejoice with those who
rejoice, and weep with those who weep .They are to be of the same mind, with humility and lowliness of mind .
1. How we are to response to Evil?
Reply to evil with good i.e.; to have regard for good things in the sight of others, to live peaceably with others if at all possible
.Therefore, our response to evil is to reply with good - Ro 12:20
2. Why we are responding with Good?
Our goal is to overcome evil - Ro 12:21, we only convince the opposition that might make right, Certainly Jesus' example
demonstrates a better way to handle conflict and evil. His humility and sacrificial love are motivated many to turn from sin.
We may never be called upon to manifest the power of responding to evil with good in such a remarkable way, but We can
begin by how we respond to personal abuses we often receive from others We can react to evil treatment even on a small scale
with active good will.
I hope this Lenten season will help us to do goodness for our society. Let us try to live with God and do seek His help .May God
bless us abundantly in our life.
