KAREE st rryEYED T O L L Y W O O D THE MOST CONTEMPORARY AMONG THE KAPOORS Kareena Kapoor has joined Bollywood who has come from the well known family of Kapoor’s. She is the daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and the younger sister of actress Karisma Kapoor. Noted for playing a variety of characters in a range of film genres—from contemporary romantic comedies to crime dramas—Kapoor has received six Filmfare Awards, and has established herself as one of Bollywood’s highestpaid actresses. Even before Kareena Kapoor had actually formally entered the Hindi film industry, there was a heightened sense of excitement regarding the entry of this light eyed spark who seemed to be a chip of the same block. Fortunately for her fans, she came out from this quicksand by showcasing her talents in movies like ‘Dev’. As the luminously beautiful and ill-fated Dolly Mishra, Kareena was subtle, without make-up and yet showcasing a powerhouse of a performance in ‘Omkara’ for which she received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She portrayed a sex worker in Chameli (2004), which became the turning point in her career. She played the female lead in the romantic comedy Jab We Met (2007) which earned her the Filmfare Award for the Best Actress. She also endorses several brands like Anne French, Airtel, Citizen Watches, Globus Fashion, Head and Shoulders, Lavie Handbags and many more.She has been named as one of the most desirable female stars as well as successful stars in Bollywood. Kareena Kapoor’s acting genes are impeccable since she is from the first film family of Bollywood, the illustrous Kapoor Khandan. She received the coveted Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the same movie. Kareena has somehow been at the center of controversies, be it her interactions with her co-stars or even her body size. When she went on a new fitness regime, people were soon discussing the ‘size zero’ in various forums; there were some who were passionately in its favor and some who totally trashed it and there were even some who totally accepted her weight choices. She is definitely a fashion icon whose dressing sense is avidly watched and copied across the country and even world. Superstar Kareena Kapoor has always been open with the media regarding her personal life and feelings; thus her fans have also shared her personal journey, be it personal relationships with co stars or boyfriends or with her husband Saif. After marrying popular actor Saif Ali Khan, Kareena has updated her name to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena is a true star with a heart and has always doing her bit towards others; among many other things, she has helped in raising the morale of our brave Indian Army jawans, helped earthquake victims, increased awareness regarding education for children, worked towards a greener environment and highlighted violence against women. She has been always selective with her movies and she has rejected many Bollywood blockbusters and Kareena reveals that she always does movies which are close to her heart. She has recently wrapped up the shoot of Gabbar Is Back with Akshay Kumar in the main lead which has been directed by Krrish. The movie has been slated for release on May 1st. She is currently shooting for Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan in the direction of Kabir Khan. She has also signed two new movies Brothers with Akshay Kumar and Siddarth Malhotra in the main leads and Udta Punjab with Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the main leads. Great going Kareena.
