PROTOCOL 1 Related to Article 22 on textile and clothing products Article 1 This Protocol applies to the textile and clothing products (hereinafter “textile products”) listed in Section XI (Chapter 50 to 63) of the Combined nomenclature of the Community. Article 2 1. Textile products falling within Section XI (Chapter 50 to 63) of the Combined nomenclature and originating in Croatia as defined in Protocol 4 of this Agreement will enter into the Community free of Customs duties on the date of entry into force of this Agreement. 2. The duties applied to direct imports into Croatia of textile products falling within Section XI (Chapter 50 to 63) of the Combined nomenclature and originating in the Community as defined in Protocol 4 of the Agreement, shall be abolished on the date of entry into force of Agreement except for products listed in Annex I and II to this Protocol for which the rates of duties shall be progressively reduced as provided therein. 3. Subject to this Protocol, the provisions of the Agreement and in particular Articles 19 and 20 of the Agreement shall apply to trade in textile products between the parties. Article 3 The double-checking arrangements and other related issues regarding exports of textile products originating in Croatia to the Community and originating in the Community to Croatia are stipulated in the Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Croatia on trade in textile products initialled on 8 November 2000 and applied since 1 January 2001. Article 4 From the entry into force of this Agreement, no new quantitative restrictions or measures of equivalent effect shall be imposed except as provided for under the above Agreement and its Protocols. 163

PROTOCOL 1<br />
Related to Article 22<br />
on textile <strong>and</strong> clothing products<br />
Article 1<br />
This Protocol applies to <strong>the</strong> textile <strong>and</strong> clothing products (hereinafter “textile products”) listed<br />
in Section XI (Chapter 50 to 63) of <strong>the</strong> Combined nomenclature of <strong>the</strong> Community.<br />
Article 2<br />
1. Textile products falling within Section XI (Chapter 50 to 63) of <strong>the</strong> Combined<br />
nomenclature <strong>and</strong> originating in <strong>Croatia</strong> as defined in Protocol 4 of this <strong>Agreement</strong><br />
will enter into <strong>the</strong> Community free of Customs duties on <strong>the</strong> date of entry into force<br />
of this <strong>Agreement</strong>.<br />
2. The duties applied to direct imports into <strong>Croatia</strong> of textile products falling within<br />
Section XI (Chapter 50 to 63) of <strong>the</strong> Combined nomenclature <strong>and</strong> originating in <strong>the</strong><br />
Community as defined in Protocol 4 of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong>, shall be abolished on <strong>the</strong> date<br />
of entry into force of <strong>Agreement</strong> except for products listed in Annex I <strong>and</strong> II to this<br />
Protocol for which <strong>the</strong> rates of duties shall be progressively reduced as provided<br />
<strong>the</strong>rein.<br />
3. Subject to this Protocol, <strong>the</strong> provisions of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong> <strong>and</strong> in particular Articles 19<br />
<strong>and</strong> 20 of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong> shall apply to trade in textile products <strong>between</strong> <strong>the</strong> parties.<br />
Article 3<br />
The double-checking arrangements <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r related issues regarding exports of textile<br />
products originating in <strong>Croatia</strong> to <strong>the</strong> Community <strong>and</strong> originating in <strong>the</strong> Community to<br />
<strong>Croatia</strong> are stipulated in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong> <strong>between</strong> <strong>the</strong> European Community <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Republic<br />
of <strong>Croatia</strong> on trade in textile products initialled on 8 November 2000 <strong>and</strong> applied since<br />
1 January 2001.<br />
Article 4<br />
From <strong>the</strong> entry into force of this <strong>Agreement</strong>, no new quantitative restrictions or measures of<br />
equivalent effect shall be imposed except as provided for under <strong>the</strong> above <strong>Agreement</strong> <strong>and</strong> its<br />
Protocols.<br />
