MATERIALS:<br />
Premiere By <strong>Classic</strong> <strong>Elite</strong> (50% pima cotton,<br />
50% tencel; 50 gram hank = approx 108 yards)<br />
• 2 hanks 5216 Natural<br />
Needles<br />
• One pair size US 5 (3.75 mm)<br />
• One crochet hook size US D/3 (3.25 mm)<br />
• Eight 1 ⁄2" buttons<br />
Gauge: 21 sts <strong>and</strong> 28 rows = 4" in <strong>Vine</strong><br />
<strong>Lace</strong> Pattern. Take time to save time, check<br />
your gauge.<br />
SPECIAL TERMS:<br />
yo: Yarn over (1 st increased).<br />
ssk: (slip, slip, knit) Slip 2 sts, 1 at a time, knitwise<br />
to the RH needle; return sts to LH needle<br />
in turned position <strong>and</strong> knit them together<br />
through the back loops (1 st decreased).<br />
k2tog: Knit 2 sts together (1 st decreased).<br />
PATTERN STITCHES:<br />
Garter Stitch (Gtr st): Knit every row.<br />
<strong>Vine</strong> <strong>Lace</strong> Pattern: (multiple of 9 sts + 4)<br />

Rows 1 <strong>and</strong> 3: (WS) K2, purl to last 2 sts, k2.<br />
Row 2: K3, *yo, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, yo, k1; rep<br />
from * to last st, k1.<br />
Row 4: K2 *yo, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, yo, k1; rep<br />
from * to last 2 sts, k2.<br />
Rep Rows 1– 4 for <strong>Vine</strong> <strong>Lace</strong> Patt.<br />
Chain (ch): Wrap the yarn around the crochet<br />
hook (yarn over) <strong>and</strong> draw it through<br />
the loop on the hook to form the first chain.<br />
Rep this step as many times as instructed.<br />
(The loop on the hook is never included<br />
when counting the number of chains).<br />
Single Crochet (sc): Insert crochet hook<br />
in indicated stitch, yarn over <strong>and</strong> pull up<br />
a loop; yarn over <strong>and</strong> draw through both<br />
loops on hook.<br />
BELT<br />
CO 22 sts. (WS) Begin Gtr st; work 2 rows<br />
even, end RS row. Change to <strong>Vine</strong> <strong>Lace</strong><br />
Patt; work even until pc meas approx 30"<br />
from beg, end WS Row 3 of <strong>Vine</strong> <strong>Lace</strong> Patt.<br />
Change to Gtr St; (RS) work 2 rows even, end<br />
WS row. (RS) BO all sts knitwise.<br />
FINISHING<br />
Block pc to measurements taking care to<br />
pin BO edge of belt into scallop <strong>pattern</strong> to<br />
mimic CO edge. Ties: Cut 12 pcs of yarn,<br />
each 35" long. *Using 3 pcs of yarn, tie a<br />
knot 2" from end <strong>and</strong> braid the 3 str<strong>and</strong>s<br />
together. When braid reaches 2" from end<br />
of str<strong>and</strong>s, tie a second knot to secure braid;<br />
rep from * 3 more times. **Slip braid through<br />
eyelet closest to corner of belt. When braid is<br />
halfway through the eyelet, tie in a knot; rep<br />
from ** for each corner.<br />

CO 49 sts. (WS) Knit 1 row. (RS) Begin <strong>Vine</strong><br />
<strong>Lace</strong> Patt; beg Row 2 of <strong>Vine</strong> <strong>Lace</strong> Patt, work<br />
even until pc meas approx 3 1 ⁄2" from beg,<br />
end RS Row 4 of <strong>Vine</strong> <strong>Lace</strong> Patt. Shape Cuff:<br />
(WS) [K2tog] 3 times, *k3, k2tog; rep from * 6<br />
times, k2, [k2tog] 3 times — 36 sts rem. *(RS)<br />
Knit 1 row. Next Row: (WS) K2, purl to last 2 sts,<br />
k2. Rep from * 1 time. Change to Gtr st; (RS)<br />
work 2 rows even, end WS row. (RS) BO all sts<br />
knitwise. Do NOT break yarn. Leave last loop<br />
live for buttonhole b<strong>and</strong>.<br />
FINISHING<br />
Buttonhole B<strong>and</strong>: With crochet hook <strong>and</strong> RS<br />
facing, insert hook into last loop from BO.<br />
Work into every other row along side edge of<br />
cuff, sc 2, ch 5; rep from * 3 times, sc 9 to CO<br />
edge of cuff. Wrap cuff around wrist, mark<br />
where the buttonholes lay comfortably; sew<br />
buttons to RS of cuff opposite buttonholes<br />
