Soil<br />

Soil is one <strong>of</strong> the most important natural resource <strong>of</strong> <strong>Uttarakhand</strong>. This natural resource<br />

is depleting gradually, day by day, as soil erosion in the area is increasing with the<br />

increase in deforestation for different developmental activities.<br />

Soil scientists as well as Metrological experts have grouped different types <strong>of</strong> soil <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Uttarakhand</strong> in to the following soil zones based on different climatic zones.<br />
