D5 Annex WP 4: ETIS DATABASE METHODOLOGY AND DATABASE USER MANUAL – PASSENGER DEMAND Indicator Compilation Template No. 2 Ref. 3.1.4 Definition ETIS Glossary Airport to airport traffic Airport = A defined area on land or water (including any buildings, installations and equipment) intended to be used either wholly or in part for the arrival, departure and movement of aircraft Airport pair = An airport pair is defined as two airports between which travel is authorised by a passenger ticket or part of a ticket, or between which freight and mail shipments are made in accordance with a shipment document or part of it (air waybill or mail delivery bill). Passenger = Any person, excluding onduty members of the flight and cabin crews, who makes a journey by air. There might be more than one possible starting airport as well as more than one destination airport. In addition different transfer airports are possible and chosen by the consumers. E. g. for travelling from Southwest Germany to the Scottish Highlands different routing can be taken into account, like FRAEDI, FRAMANINV, FRA BHXINV, FRAAMSABZ, STRFRAEDI, STRCDGABZ, SXBLGWINV, ...
