DAILY
PRACTICE
- Be prosperous.
DO EACH OF THESE THINGS EVERY DAY.
Based on the ideas and daily practice developed by James Altucher.
n important foundation of life's success is
Athe outlook of the individual regarding the
hope and expectations for his or her life.
For most of us though, much of what is practiced
day to day towards achieving plans and goals is
left to what life brings to us, as opposed to what
we bring into our moments, days, weeks and
months. I do not include years here because for
the purposes of this discussion, that is eternity.
Eternity because 12 months, or one year is a
denitive period in which you access success or
failure of what has been specically achieved.
From the beginning where hopes were expressed
or internalized, it is important to develop metrics
and parameters that will help to take us to that
which we expect to achieve and celebrate.
According to Kevin Elliot, an admirer of Altucher's, a
productive routine can lead to good habits, a bucket of
achievables, and a life of happiness. Success often trails
people that are happy, talented and smart-working (not
necessarily hard working), and above all, connected.
Reaching this place can be very difcult for some
people, while others can come across to be born with
all of these things. Most people have the ability to
reach their potential, but it takes a strict regimen or
daily practice.
This piece is an attempt to help the individual, whether
he or she is a student, graduate student, professional,
or even as a retiree move from a place of freely
facing life and what it brings, or a tenuous program of
setting objectives or plans, and leaving the outcomes
to God. What follows is a plan, or call it a program
that has worked for quite a few successful men and
women all over the world. It is a deliberate attempt
at discipline through diligence to execute a program
of activities that are specic and purposeful.
Altucher talks about having four legs to his practice:
Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, and Mental.
It's really all about not over exerting yourself in one area,
but staying balanced within all the four [4].
His theory, based on his life experience, is that if you are
weak on one or more of these legs, you will have difculty
mastering the remaining ones. This imbalance leads to chaos
and you will likely minimize your power to achieve the
success you desire.
Come with me to review the program developed by James
Altucher – a very interesting character who has had it all
before [millions of $], and lost it all, and regained it again,
through a daily practice he does every day in order to stay
on top of his game. He's gone through many struggling
phases in his life where he has lost everything: millions of
dollars, his family, his friends but later bounced back
stronger, in part due to this daily practice.
He came up with this program to help those willing to allow
a specic plan to restrain them from allowing life to throw
missiles at them instead of pushing their( God ordained)
plan and agenda to a successful end.
We nd his particular daily practice to be the most
interesting over other knowledge-centric practices because
he incorporates other activities that are often neglected by
entrepreneurs and people involved in early stage startups!
For example, it's very easy to skip workouts [or exercises] due
to sitting at a desk writing or coding all day, or avoiding
spirituality because you're stressed out.
It is vital to make your life balanced if you actually want to
expand your network, attract some viable opportunities for
success, and go on to be successful. Otherwise, you're just be
playing the lottery for success, which most of us regrettably
seem to be doing!
The program is based on the following the structures;
A. Spiritual
B. Physical
C. Emotional &
D. Mental
