UMA System Abutments
The UMA (Universal Modification Abutment)
system is used for screw retained restorations
where it is desired to have the points of
attachment superior to the soft tissue. Where
there is insufficient clearance to use a UMA
or when a sub-gingival separation is desired,
a UCLA abutment can be used to achieve separation
of the restoration at the implant level.
The UMA is a transmucosal collar that should
be secured to the implant with 30 Ncm of
torque. The UMA screw used to secure the
restoration to the abutment is packaged with
each UMA plastic coping. A 0.05“ hex driver
is used to secure the screw which should
only be tightened to 20 Ncm.
