The breakfast price is $1.50. The lunch price this year is: $2.50 each, 5 for $12.50, 10 for $25.00 or 20 for $50.00,
etc. Milk Only purchases may be made by cash or by purchasing multiple milks and having it added to the student’s
account. The Milk Only cost is .45 cents each, 5 for $2.25, etc. Please make checks payable to Knowlton Twp. Elementary
School (KTES). Checks are preferred, but we will accept cash payments. No post dated checks please.

PTO ELECTIONS FOR 2015 - 2016
The PTO will be holding their annual election for the 2015—2016 school year at
their May meeting on Tuesday, May 19th at 3:30 pm. Anyone interested in a
board position or interested in nominating someone may contact the school
office prior to the meeting to submit their name. You may also submit a note
with the information to the office and mark it “Attention PTO” or email
nominations or inquires to Kim Neeb, at: KimNeeb@icloud.com. This is a great
opportunity to get involved!
Reminder to parents dropping students off for
school in the morning…
Between 8:25 and 8:40 in the morning, there should be
NO VEHICLES OTHER THAN SCHOOL BUSES
dropping students at the main entrance of the school. Students being
dropped off at that time should be dropped off at the EAST WING
entrance which opens at 8:30 am.
If your child is dropped off after 8:40 am they are late and
need to be signed by a parent/guardian in at the main office. Thank you.

Annual KTES PTO Walk-a-Thon 2015
Friday, May 22, 2015
Students will walk in 30 minutes increments during the school day between the
hours of 9 am and 2:30 am. Pledge Sheets were sent home last week.
Should you need additional Pledge Sheets they are available online in the
Parent Backpack at: www.knowltonschool.com
All donations and pledge sheets should be turned into the main office.
Students who raise a minimum of $5 will receive a pedometer.
All pledge donations, money or checks made payable to Knowlton PTO, should
be turned by Tuesday, May 19th. If you have questions or want to volunteer
on this day, call PTO President, Kim Neeb at 496-4453.
(The rain date is May 26th)
Family Corner:
When you spend time with your children talking, playing, and relaxing, you strengthen your
relationship and help them do better in school. But for many families, busy schedules get in
the way of enjoying each other’s company. Find creative ways to spend time together
throughout the day. Start by thinking about your family’s obligations and activities, such as
homework, meals, errands, classes, and chores.
A lot of families now are composed of step siblings, half-siblings, etc. New families take to
time to bond. You can make the process easier for your blended family with activities.
Tip #16: Play “Fast Facts” to get to know one another better. On separate slips of paper, each
person can write three facts about herself that other family members might not know.
Example: “My favorite color is orange.” or “I once had a pet lizard.” Choose one person to
collect the facts and read them aloud without naming the writer. Try to match each one to the

Children’s Specialized Hospital 2015 Walk n’ Roll!

Knowlton Fire and Rescue will be sponsoring a team in support of KTES student
Taryn Garriques. She received surgery last fall at Children’s Specialized Hospital in
New Brunswick. This surgery has given her the ability to walk.
The KTFR family wants to give back to CHS in support of Taryn.

COMMUNITY YARD SALE PLANNED for Saturday, May 16th from 9 to 3 pm at Knowlton United Methodist
Church at 509 Route 94 in Columbia. Rain or Shine! For $10 we will reserve a space for you. Bring your
own tables and join us! The more the merrier and the bigger crowds we will draw! We will also advertise

Girl Scout Silver Award Project “iPods for the elderly”. 3 Girl Scout Cadette Troop 888 members are collecting
