The general tendency is given by the natural growth, which is increasing and positive. That means the increase in birth rate is higher than the increase in the death rate. Most of the dismissed persons are qualified in professions from the industrial area, and have a difficult time finding a new job for this profile. Through the programs and projects run by AJOFM, the Medgidia branch, a series of premises were created for the re-qualification of these persons. The number of the persons laid off in 1991 was of 731 persons. Comparatively, their number decreased in 2004 to 288, of which 94 persons secured new jobs. At the end of 2004 a number of 1,594 unemployed persons were recorded at the County Agency for Working Force Employment- Medgidia Branch.
