QUALIFYING PERIOD OF SERVICE ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLMENT TO THE
MEMBERSHIP OF THE ~UND

From the inception of Completion of one year's continuous service or has actually
the EPF Scheme, in worked for not less than 240 days within a period of one year or
1952 till 2nd Dec. 1971 less, whichever is earlier.
From 03.12.1971 to Completion of one year's continuous service or has actually
09.08.1974 worked tor not less than 240 days within a period of one year or
less or has been declared permanent in any such factory or
other establishment whichever is the earliest.

From 10.08.1974 to Completion of six months continuous service or has actually
30.01.1981 worked for not less than 120 days within a period of six months
or less or has been declared permanent in any such factory or
other establishment, whichever is the earliest.
From 31.01.1981 to Completion of three months continuous service or has actually
31.10.1990 worked for not less than 60 days within a period of three
months or has been declared permanent in any such factory or
other establishment, whichever is the earliest.

MEMBERS ENROLLED
During the year 34,10,714 new members were enrolled at the gross level comprising of
32,70,039 in the Un-exempted category and 1,40,675 in the exempted category. After
accounting for the ceased members or adjustment due to reconciliation of figures by the
regions, the net addition during the year was 17,63,406 members as against 14,17,951
members during the previous year. The details of the coverage of establishments and
enrolment of members are given in Table: 2.
