fulfilment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cultural Policy and o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>concept</strong>ual documents<br />

– ensure <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional and transparent evaluation <strong>of</strong> grant programmes<br />

– ensure ongo<strong>in</strong>g evaluations <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>dividual grant programmes and governmental organisations<br />

– prepare sub-strategies and targeted strategies <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong> (strategies <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>support</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

audiovisual work; a policy <strong>for</strong> art and education) with <strong>the</strong> participation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

community<br />

– re<strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>ce de-centralised plann<strong>in</strong>g, i. e. develop<strong>in</strong>g strategies at regional and municipal<br />

levels<br />

– survey artistic activities and <strong>the</strong> activities <strong>of</strong> cultural entities focused on <strong>the</strong> creation,<br />

identification, presentation, <strong>in</strong>terpretation, distribution, and documentation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong><br />

– create relevant <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation databases accessible to <strong>the</strong> public locally and <strong>in</strong>ternationally<br />

– promote <strong>the</strong> understand<strong>in</strong>g that a healthy and functional artistic and cultural sphere<br />

has an important role to play <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> development <strong>of</strong> civil society, and that it can fulfil<br />

this role on <strong>the</strong> condition that <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong> are properly recognised and presented and are<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essionally mediated and adequately reflected <strong>in</strong> society<br />

– make public <strong>the</strong> data and examples <strong>of</strong> best practices related to direct positive impact<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g areas 31<br />

– economic growth and development – <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>flux <strong>of</strong> new f<strong>in</strong>ancial sources as a result<br />

<strong>of</strong> co-productions and cooperation and multiplication effects (<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>for</strong>m <strong>of</strong><br />

o<strong>the</strong>r services and <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong> improvement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir quality) <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> areas <strong>of</strong> tourism<br />

and employment<br />

– education – <strong>the</strong> transmission <strong>of</strong> cultural values<br />

– health – <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> areas <strong>of</strong> enterta<strong>in</strong>ment, leisure, <strong>the</strong> prevention <strong>of</strong> negative social<br />

phenomena, <strong>for</strong> example, prevent<strong>in</strong>g or combat<strong>in</strong>g drug abuse and crim<strong>in</strong>ality<br />

– social solidarity – <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong> combat prejudices, are accessible to all social strata, generate<br />

situations <strong>for</strong> social ga<strong>the</strong>r<strong>in</strong>gs, facilitate social communication, help <strong>in</strong>tegrate<br />

<strong>for</strong>eigners, and are a part <strong>of</strong> a country’s national prestige and national image<br />

– promote <strong>the</strong> understand<strong>in</strong>g that live <strong>arts</strong> help to shape our identity and cultural heritage<br />

(which <strong>in</strong>volves <strong>more</strong> than just monuments or museum collections)<br />

– strive to work <strong>more</strong> actively with <strong>the</strong> public and search <strong>for</strong> new ways <strong>in</strong> which to appeal<br />

to o<strong>the</strong>r p<strong>arts</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> public<br />

– <strong>of</strong>ficially recognise and reward important artistic achievements, events that contribute<br />

to <strong>the</strong> presentation and accessibility <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong>, and those who <strong>support</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong><br />

– commemorate <strong>the</strong> anniversaries <strong>of</strong> prom<strong>in</strong>ent artistic figures and significant events<br />

play a role <strong>in</strong> structural and regional development<br />

– streng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> opportunities <strong>for</strong> Czech artists and managers to participate <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

educational projects and residency-type projects (artistic residencies, opportunities<br />

<strong>for</strong> ga<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g experience) and <strong>the</strong>ir fur<strong>the</strong>r education<br />

– monitor and evaluate economic multiplication effects generated by <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong><br />

– exam<strong>in</strong>e <strong>the</strong> potential <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> cultural and creative <strong>in</strong>dustries <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Czech Republic<br />

and <strong>for</strong>mulate a <strong>concept</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>support</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>frastructure <strong>of</strong> cultural <strong>in</strong>dustry <strong>in</strong> relation<br />

to <strong>the</strong> <strong>arts</strong><br />

– monitor <strong>the</strong> transfers made by lottery operators <strong>for</strong> public-benefit purposes <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

sphere <strong>of</strong> culture<br />
