– promote a consistent position among the bodies of state administration towards the
fulfilment of the Cultural Policy and other conceptual documents
– ensure the professional and transparent evaluation of grant programmes
– ensure ongoing evaluations of individual grant programmes and governmental organisations
– strengthen international cooperation (the mobility of artists and works of art)
– promote life-long education for employees in the sphere of the arts (new technology)

– systematically promote the state’s Cultural Policy and the Concept for More Efficient
Support of the Arts in 2007–2013
– prepare sub-strategies and targeted strategies in the arts (strategies for the support of
audiovisual work; a policy for art and education) with the participation of the professional
community
– reinforce de-centralised planning, i. e. developing strategies at regional and municipal
levels
– survey artistic activities and the activities of cultural entities focused on the creation,
identification, presentation, interpretation, distribution, and documentation of the arts
– create relevant information databases accessible to the public locally and internationally
f) social
– promote the understanding that a healthy and functional artistic and cultural sphere
has an important role to play in the development of civil society, and that it can fulfil
this role on the condition that the arts are properly recognised and presented and are
professionally mediated and adequately reflected in society
– make public the data and examples of best practices related to direct positive impact
in the following areas 31
– economic growth and development – the influx of new financial sources as a result
of co-productions and cooperation and multiplication effects (in the form of
other services and the the improvement of their quality) in the areas of tourism
and employment
– education – the transmission of cultural values
– health – in the areas of entertainment, leisure, the prevention of negative social
phenomena, for example, preventing or combating drug abuse and criminality
– social solidarity – the arts combat prejudices, are accessible to all social strata, generate
situations for social gatherings, facilitate social communication, help integrate
foreigners, and are a part of a country’s national prestige and national image
– promote the understanding that live arts help to shape our identity and cultural heritage
(which involves more than just monuments or museum collections)
– strive to work more actively with the public and search for new ways in which to appeal
to other parts of the public
– officially recognise and reward important artistic achievements, events that contribute
to the presentation and accessibility of the arts, and those who support the arts
– commemorate the anniversaries of prominent artistic figures and significant events
and entities
– promote and publicise examples of best practices, especially those in which the arts
play a role in structural and regional development
– strengthen the opportunities for Czech artists and managers to participate in international
educational projects and residency-type projects (artistic residencies, opportunities
for gaining experience) and their further education
– monitor and evaluate economic multiplication effects generated by the arts
– examine the potential of the cultural and creative industries in the Czech Republic
and formulate a concept for supporting the infrastructure of cultural industry in relation
to the arts
– monitor the transfers made by lottery operators for public-benefit purposes in the
sphere of culture
