These brewers have creatively put the elements of<br />

This Pale Wheat Lager pours a golden straw colour<br />

with a crisp, malt body. Fresh tropical fruit and<br />

pine aromas complement a juicy hop flavour and<br />

clean, even bitterness. The new brewery and beer<br />

garden from the guys behind The Local Taphouses<br />

is expected to open in Collingwood later this year.<br />

Brewed with water sourced from a local spring in<br />

strain. Designed to sip, slop and slurp!<br />

109 Big Time Rush<br />

A beautifully zesty summer cask ale, this is hopped<br />

with loads of whole cone hops in the hop back<br />

(basically a big tea bag of hops). No bittering hops<br />

were added. Sessionable, with a malty backbone.<br />

Served on hand pump.<br />

TUATARA BREWERY New Zealand<br />

110 Carl’s Precious<br />

Rich dark malt, spicy rye malt and US citric hop<br />

aroma. The full flavour of dark malts and rye is<br />

balanced with plenty of bitterness and the fruity<br />

flavour of American hops. It is unfiltered to retain<br />

all of its character and fullness.<br />

111 Pina Colada<br />

Combining beer and cocktails, this IPA is heaped<br />

with American hops and then layered with a<br />

truckload of pineapples and a lovely bunch of<br />

coconuts. It’s brewed so you feel like you’re in<br />

Puerto Rico wherever you are.<br />

112 Pie Cart<br />

The Pie Cart was a South Australian institution<br />

after a late night pub crawl. Taking inspiration from<br />

an article written by Paul Mercurio about adding<br />

Porter to split green pea and ham soup, this is a<br />

split green pea and ham Porter.<br />

VAN DIEMAN BREWING TAS<br />

113 One Night In A Black Tent<br />

Black Ale brewed with Tasmanian black truffles,<br />

native pepperberries and fennel seeds then barrel<br />

aged in Tokay port barrels for six months. This<br />

incredible ale is rich, fruity, spicy with a velvety<br />

smooth roast texture.<br />

114 OATIS<br />

An ultra smooth Golden Oatmeal IPA (India Pale<br />

Ale) bursting with grapefruit, pineapple, lime zest<br />

and apricot hop aromas, perfectly balanced by<br />

a malt backbone of sweet toasted malt and silky<br />

smooth oatmeal.<br />

115 Bock Bock<br />

Overtones of smoked Manuka nestled nicely in a<br />

veil of deep velvety malt. The lush, delicate yeast<br />

whispers of carefree days in a grassy meadow while<br />

the rich warmth of the entwined alcohol tiptoes<br />

gently across your tongue…<br />

WILLIE THE BOATMAN NSW<br />

116 Ruben’s Roast<br />

It may look pale in colour but this beer is packed<br />

to the brim with malt, hops and ‘cold brew’ (not<br />

cold drip) Ethiopian Fair Trade Coffee. It has<br />

enough caffeine to make a can of V shake in its<br />

boots!<br />

YEASTIE BOYS New Zealand<br />

117 Not Kettle Black<br />

Two years ago a mystery wild yeast made its way<br />

into the brewery’s Pot Kettle Black. Beer was<br />

dumped and tears shed but some kegs remained,<br />

tasting greater every day but unable to be tamed.<br />

Now having vented its rage within a Pinot Noir Port<br />

barrel, the result is a happy accident!<br />

YOUNG HENRYS BREWING CO NSW<br />

118 Midnight in the Carpark<br />

of Good and Evil<br />

This is a blend of two interesting beers. One is a<br />

rum barrel-aged cherry Flanders ale, which is a<br />

complex, sour, red wine-like Belgian-style ale. The<br />

other is a velvet chocolate Stout.<br />
