The true story of how James Squire
He went on from being a convict on the
LITTLE CREATURES & WHITE RABBIT
VIC
Little Creatures was born out of the love of
hoppy beers by brewing veterans,
37
dedicated to making unique ales. The
entire team are certified hopheads, mad on the
explosion of flavour derived from brewing with whole
hop flowers which provide Little Creatures beers
with their unique, floral aromas and refreshing
bitterness. Breweries in Fremantle and Geelong.
White Rabbit was born to be different and brews
beers that don’t just follow the others. Playing with
MACARTHUR GRANGE BREWERY
NSW
4 Aussie brothers once lay scattered
around the world. After 10 years brewing
36
in Germany, one brother, being
substantially larger than the others, convinced
them to join him in starting a Brauhaus back
home. They now make beers that are modern yet
classic, combining traditional European styles with
Australian ingredients and flavours.
MISMATCH BREWING COMPANY
SA
We’re a ‘mismatch’ of industry
professionals and beverage specialists
30
who started a brewing co. We relish
transparency in where we source raw materials
from and where we make our products. We believe
utilising excess space in other breweries helps
grow the holistic craft segment by supporting those
that have made investment in the category. We
believe beer should be made for enjoyment.
MOA BREWING COMPANY
New Zealand
Moa Brewing Co. was founded in 2003 by
Josh Scott, with a focus on brewing super
32
premium handcrafted beers. According to
Josh, also a winemaker, “It takes a lot of beer to
make a good wine”. The multi-award winning Moa
beers and ciders are proudly brewed using
traditional, costly, inefficient and labour intensive
techniques with a focus on local ingredients, inc.
internationally renowned NZ hops. These
techniques create dynamic and complex flavours
that change over time (like a good wine), and give
the beer an elegant, champagne-like mouthfeel.
