Director of <strong>Quality</strong><br />

The postholder will normally be located at the Tower Road Campus<br />

but as a term of employment may be required to work at any site from<br />

which the College is offering or providing services.<br />

As the College’s <strong>Awarding</strong> <strong>Body</strong> <strong>Quality</strong> Nominee, you will be the first<br />

point of contact and responsible for all awarding body enquiries,<br />

<strong>Quality</strong> Assurance arrangements and ensuring successful outcomes<br />

to annual visits.<br />

Main Duties and Responsibilities<br />

1. To ensure that all programmes are approved and registrations are accurate and upto-date.<br />

2. To ensure approval conditions and policy requirements are being implemented<br />

consistently and effectively.<br />

3. To ensure teaching staff skills and qualifications meet expected requirements and<br />

they are aware of support and guidance available and understand requirements.<br />

4. To ensure there is an accredited Lead Internal Verifier in place for each principle<br />

subject area where required.<br />

5. To ensure assessment and internal verification is effective on all programmes<br />

delivered at the College, including ensuring effective assessment and internal<br />

verification plans and strategies are in place and fully implemented.<br />

6. To lead on internal <strong>Quality</strong> Assurance audits and monitor actions/compliance within<br />

agreed timescales.<br />

7. To maintain and update relevant information on the staff intranet and ensure easy<br />

access to information and resources as part of awarding body requirements.<br />

8. To support improvements to practice by attending team meetings, disseminating<br />

updates and key guidance and providing guidance and support as appropriate.<br />

9. To identify and lead on essential internal/external training and development<br />

opportunities, including awarding body events and ensure appropriate and relevant<br />

attendance to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills in the relevant subject area.<br />

10. To liaise with Curriculum Team Managers and Head of Faculty to ensure effective<br />

and successful delivery of qualifications.<br />

11. To co-ordinate EV visits, sampling, grade reviews etc. and monitor any essential<br />

actions arising in conjunction with Lead IV’s.<br />

12. To manage, co-ordinate and ensure successful outcomes to Annual <strong>Quality</strong> Reviews<br />

with awarding bodies including any essential actions arising.<br />

13. To work closely with the Director of <strong>Quality</strong> and provide regular updates and reports<br />

on progress<br />

General Duties:<br />

The postholder will be required to undertake other duties as directed by the Principal (or<br />

his/her delegated representative) appropriate to the administration of the College and within<br />

the abilities of the postholder.<br />
