Purpose of the Post:<br />

Curriculum Team Manager - Foundation<br />

To provide coaching <strong>to</strong> students relating <strong>to</strong> seeking employment<br />

enabling them with the skills <strong>to</strong> succeed in the workplace<br />

The post holder will be required <strong>to</strong> work at any site from which<br />

the College is offering or providing services and in accordance <strong>to</strong><br />

the needs of the students.<br />

College students and their families, external employers, all<br />

College employees and management<br />

Duties and Responsibilities:<br />

1. Establish good working relationships between families, students and the College;<br />

2. Conduct interviews for students;<br />

3. Secure employment for these students;<br />

4. Support students in<strong>to</strong> independent employment;<br />

5. Provide, or organise, any necessary training for students going in<strong>to</strong> employment;<br />

6. Help employers in the adaptation of the working environments;<br />

7. Plan and implement independent travel programmes for students;<br />

8. Carry out the regular assessment of students;<br />

9. Promote health and safety awareness <strong>to</strong> students going in<strong>to</strong> employment;<br />

10. Work flexibly as needed, including evenings and weekends;<br />

11. Offer any further support <strong>to</strong> students in employment as necessary.<br />

undertake any other duties within his / her capability and experience that may be relevant<br />

and necessary <strong>to</strong> fulfill the post effectively.

Proven experience of working with students with learning disabilities who are not in<br />

employment, education or training<br />

Good communication skills<br />

Flexible approach, with a willingness <strong>to</strong> work outside of normal working hours.<br />

Proven experience of conducting interviews<br />

Proven experience of finding and arranging paid employment<br />

Proven experience arranging support strategies for adults with learning disabilities<br />

and/or difficulties <strong>to</strong> work independently<br />

Ability <strong>to</strong> work <strong>to</strong> targets<br />

Ability <strong>to</strong> undertake risk assessment for students in the field<br />

Willingness <strong>to</strong> travel<br />

Awareness of behavioral modification techniques<br />

Understanding of equal opportunities<br />

A minimum level 2 in literacy and numeracy<br />

General Duties:<br />

All duties must be carried out <strong>to</strong> comply with:<br />

1. Health & Safety at work act<br />

2. Acts of Parliament, Statu<strong>to</strong>ry Instruments and Regulations and other legal<br />

requirements, and nationally agreed Codes of Practice which are relevant.<br />

3. All duties will be carried out in the working condition normally inherent in the<br />

particular job. The postholder will be required <strong>to</strong> undertake other duties as directed<br />

by the Principal (or his/her delegated representative) appropriate <strong>to</strong> the<br />

administration of the College and within the abilities of the postholder. Additional<br />

evening duties may be required from time <strong>to</strong> time.<br />

the organisation, after consultation with you.
