The postholder will normally be located at the Holly Hill Campus but<br />

as a term of employment may be required to work at any site from<br />

which the College is offer<strong>in</strong>g or provid<strong>in</strong>g services.<br />

To teach and facilitate learn<strong>in</strong>g for all students, manag<strong>in</strong>g courses,<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g programmes and assessment, and contribut<strong>in</strong>g to pastoral<br />

systems and curriculum <strong>in</strong>novation, development and implementation.<br />

Regular verbal and written reports as required by the Head of<br />

Faculty/Curriculum Team Manager, clients, <strong>in</strong>ternal and external<br />

verifiers and employers.<br />

Ma<strong>in</strong> Duties and Responsibilities<br />

1. Teach across a range of vocational and academic programmes.<br />

2. Conduct lessons, lectures, and tutorials us<strong>in</strong>g teach<strong>in</strong>g methods and materials as<br />

appropriate.<br />

3. Undertake preparation and mark<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e with normal teach<strong>in</strong>g duties associated with<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g programmes.<br />

4. Facilitate learn<strong>in</strong>g by the selection and development of materials and methods<br />

appropriate to student needs and course level.<br />

5. Provide students with feedback and guidance to support their learn<strong>in</strong>g and enhance their<br />

knowledge and progress with<strong>in</strong> the constra<strong>in</strong>ts of assessment confidentiality.<br />

6. Ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> accurate and appropriate records, registers and timetables and make these<br />

available on demand to College adm<strong>in</strong>istration and external agencies.<br />

7. Help with market<strong>in</strong>g, enrolment and <strong>in</strong>duction of students, evaluation and other<br />

adm<strong>in</strong>istrative and promotional tasks as required by the Assistant Director/Team Leader<br />

to support particular courses/programmes and the work of the Division and the College.<br />

8. Conduct assessments as necessary <strong>in</strong> the workplace <strong>in</strong> order to deliver the curriculum<br />

9. Organise resources for effective teach<strong>in</strong>g adm<strong>in</strong>istration and assessment, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g onl<strong>in</strong>e<br />

assessment<br />

10. Attend and contribute to staff development activities with<strong>in</strong> the division and team<br />

meet<strong>in</strong>gs as appropriate.<br />

11. Take an active part <strong>in</strong> all aspects of quality assurance <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g course review and<br />

evaluation and other statistical returns<br />

12. Prepare, mark and grade assignment material and exam<strong>in</strong>ation questions as<br />

appropriate.<br />

13. Assist with the adm<strong>in</strong>istration and <strong>in</strong>vigilation of time-constra<strong>in</strong>ed assessment and<br />

exam<strong>in</strong>ations if required.<br />

14. Mark, grade and give written or verbal assessment as required to support student<br />

feedback and progress.<br />

15. Implement curriculum change result<strong>in</strong>g from <strong>in</strong>novation and development<br />

16. Promote the agreed College policies for Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and<br />

smok<strong>in</strong>g etc and any other policy which the College adopts for the welfare of employees,<br />

students and visitors, by carry<strong>in</strong>g out appropriate procedures and practices.<br />

17. Establish, ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> and develop good work<strong>in</strong>g relationships with colleagues and external<br />

agencies.<br />

18. Participate as required <strong>in</strong> the formal College Appraisal process.<br />

19. Respond to identified personal and professional needs by undertak<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g or<br />

research as required.<br />

20. Adhere to College policy/guidel<strong>in</strong>es <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g those relat<strong>in</strong>g to Equal Opportunities,<br />

General Duties:<br />

The postholder will be required to undertake other duties as directed by the Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal (or<br />

his/her delegated representative) appropriate to the adm<strong>in</strong>istration of the College and with<strong>in</strong><br />

the abilities of the postholder.<br />
