but as a term of employment may be required to work at any site from<br />

contribut<strong>in</strong>g to pastoral systems and curriculum <strong>in</strong>novation,<br />

development and implementation.<br />

Experience of teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Built</strong> Environment with<strong>in</strong> HE<br />

Proven <strong>in</strong>dustrial experience <strong>in</strong> a <strong>Built</strong> Environment discipl<strong>in</strong>e<br />

The Chartered Status MCIOS/RICS qualification<br />

A teach<strong>in</strong>g qualification<br />

Level II Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent<br />

Excellent verbal and written communication skills<br />

Experience of work<strong>in</strong>g as a member of a team and also work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>dependently with<br />

m<strong>in</strong>imum supervision<br />

Excellent theoretical knowledge <strong>in</strong> a built environment discipl<strong>in</strong>e<br />

Knowledge of current <strong>in</strong>dustrial practice <strong>in</strong> a built environment discipl<strong>in</strong>e<br />

Strong <strong>in</strong>terpersonal skills and presentation skills<br />

Experience of plann<strong>in</strong>g own work <strong>in</strong> relation to direction received<br />

Knowledge of relevant practices <strong>in</strong> the UK<br />

Ability to work under pressure and <strong>in</strong> a chang<strong>in</strong>g environment with external bodies,<br />

employers, customers etc.<br />

Ability to manage a diverse work load <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g meet<strong>in</strong>g targets with<strong>in</strong> set timescales<br />

Ma<strong>in</strong> Duties and Responsibilities<br />

To teach on HNC & HND programmes.<br />

The candidate will need to have a sound background <strong>in</strong> a relevant discipl<strong>in</strong>e and the<br />

application of theoretical knowledge <strong>in</strong> UK practice.<br />

To act as a Course Tutor and/or Programme Leader to manage programmes of study<br />

The majority of the work will <strong>in</strong>clude one or more of quantity survey<strong>in</strong>g, construction<br />

management, architectural design, build<strong>in</strong>g survey<strong>in</strong>g, build<strong>in</strong>g studies subjects but may<br />

<strong>in</strong>clude professional & Technical teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Undertake market<strong>in</strong>g and promotional activities <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g liaison with employers and any<br />

other outside bodies, designed to secure and <strong>in</strong>crease the number of student hours<br />

accredited to the Division of Construction.<br />

Undertake normal duties associated with the teach<strong>in</strong>g programme, e.g. preparation and<br />

mark<strong>in</strong>g reports and reference writ<strong>in</strong>g, registration and statistical returns, attendance at<br />

Course Meet<strong>in</strong>gs and Education Development Meet<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

Assist dur<strong>in</strong>g enrolment. Assist with the development, plann<strong>in</strong>g and organis<strong>in</strong>g of<br />

courses<br />

Undertake assessments <strong>in</strong> the workplace as necessary<br />

Assist with <strong>in</strong>vigilat<strong>in</strong>g end of year exams<br />

To assist <strong>in</strong> the mark<strong>in</strong>g of end of year exams<br />

To attend the meet<strong>in</strong>gs at the local University for Review Boards


General Duties:<br />

The postholder will be required to undertake other duties as directed by the Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal (or<br />

his/her delegated representative) appropriate to the adm<strong>in</strong>istration of the College and with<strong>in</strong><br />

the abilities of the postholder.<br />
