The Knights of Columbus will be providing a wonderful
opportunity for parishioners and families of Nativity to share in
the joy of helping provide for people with intellectual
disabilities. The Knights will be soliciting donations for the
annual Tootsie Roll Drive to be held September 21-23 at
various locations throughout the Broomfield area and encourage
you to assist us with this effort. Nationally the Knights of
Columbus are the largest contributor to Special Olympics, and a
small portion of our collections will go towards Colorado
Special Olympics. The balance will be distributed here locally
to F.R.I.E.N.D.S of Broomfield and also to Operation TBI
Freedom to assist local veterans suffering from traumatic brain
injuries.
We’ll be canvassing at (2) King Soopers, (2) Safeway and (2)
Wal-Mart locations and asking for volunteers to work 2 hour
shifts. Refreshments and snacks will be provided to make this
an enjoyable and educational opportunity for our youth and
families to experience the benefits of extending a helping hand
to those less fortunate.
Please consider helping us with this noble venture. Sign-up
sheets will be available after all Masses in early September.

Catholic recording artist Danielle Rose will be returning
to Nativity to give a concert on Saturday, August
25 at 7:30 pm. Her beautiful music and incredible story
will inspire all who hear! Doors open at 7pm and
admission is free. A freewill offering will be taken to
benefit China Little Flower orphanage. For more on

First Penance and First Communion.
For children reaching the age of reason (approximately
seven years old) who have received the Sacrament of
Baptism. If you would like to better understand the process
of preparing your child for First Penance and First
Communion please attend one of the following informational
meetings: Tuesday, August 28th or Wednesday,
August 29th from 5pm to 6pm. Meetings are optional
and attendance is not required for your child to receive
First Communion. Registration forms for First Penance
and First Communion preparation classes are available
at www.nool.us or in the lower gathering area on the

Confirmation.
The practice of the Archdiocese is to confirm you between
the 6th and 11th grades. We at Nativity accept
requests for Confirmation from seekers in this age
group. For information on Confirmation please plan to
attend one of our information meetings. Confirmation
information meetings will be on August 28 and August
29th at 6pm. Registration forms are available in the lower
gathering area or at www.nool.us. Please bring completed
forms with you to the information meeting.

This month we will be continuing to review the
book “THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV " by
Fyodor Dostoevsky. Every one is welcome to
join our discussions. We will meet on Tuesday,
August 14th instead of the usual Wednesday due to the Holy
Day. We will be getting together in Dresen Room at 8:00 am
just after 7:30 Mass. We will also be discussing the next
books we will choose to read. Bring some ideas!

did the New Testament originate?” and understanding how

teachings of the “Fathers of the Church.” This study will be
eleven (11) weeks long beginning on September 18, 2012 and
ending on December 11, 2012. Sign ups will begin on the day
