VIII. TEACHER INVOLVEMENT
Describe how teachers will be involved in using academic assessments to provide information on and improve individual
student achievement and the overall instructional program.
Teachers at Washington High School have collaboratively studied assessments. They will continue to study assessments, identify
prerequisite skills needed for solving the problem, and adjust instruction accordingly. Teachers have also studied learning styles
and the constructivist approach to education.
In addition, teachers will target benchmarks and use the results of those assessments to guide re-teaching and further instruction.
The state provided formative assessments also provide instructors and students with instant feedback.
Common content planning periods which meet weekly, also provide teachers with an arena to share results and ask for
suggestions and other teaching strategies over specific skills/benchmarks.
