Springpole Gold Project Road Alternatives Assessment Comparison of effects A comparison of both road options indicates that the potential effects of each option are fairly similar in terms of the magnitude, duration and reversibility. Option A covers a larger geographic extent, but the difference in overall total habitat affected is negligible. The difference between the two options is in the values that could potentially be affected, with Option B located within a potential wildlife corridor. Also, Option A allows for a better ability to gate the road and restrict access due to the extent of leased claims associated with this option, thereby reducing the potential for mortality as a result of hunting.
