Approximately 100 competitors flooded the Atlantic City area in hopes to earn top honors in their respective age division. The players not only had to battle the challenging links style course with twisting landscapes and contoured fairways, but also had to encounter the frigid temperatures and blistering winds during Sunday’s final-round. In the Boys 16-19 Division, it was Ryan Blair of Center Valley, PA who found himself atop the leaderboard. Blair came out on fire during Saturday’s first round, carding an impressive 1-under par 71, which was the only sub-par round of the tournament and gave him a two-stroke advantage going into Sunday’s final-round. Blair battled through the tough weather conditions on Sunday adding three birdies to the scorecard en route to a 77, which was just enough to hold off his fellow competitors. Taking home second place honors was Nicholas Reach of Moscow, PA who posted rounds of 73 and 80. Finishing in a tie for third place was Joshua Feldschneider of Delran, NJ, Austin Zurlo of Bernardsville, NJ and Mark Endres of Bryn Mawr, PA who finished with a tournament total of 155. Prevailing in the Boys 13-15 Division was Jay Pinkos of Clifton, VA who showed consistency this weekend carding rounds of 76 and 78. The one-stroke victory was his third win on the season. Mike Amole of Huntingdon, PA followed up his first-round 73 with an 82 to finish alone in second place. Rounding out the top three with two-day totals of 158 were Sacheev Mandhle of Franklin Lake, NJ, Tucker Koch of Malvern, PA and Luke Edelman of Mahwah, NJ. Marisa Kamelgarn of Mahopac, NY was the victor in the Girls 19 & Under Division. She put together rounds of 75 and 80 to record her sixth victory of the 2007-08 season. Finishing in second place was Gabriella DiMarco of West Chester, PA after carding a tournament total 157. Finishing alone in third place was Heather Petronis of Northfield, NJ who posted a two-day total of 166. In the Boys 12 & Under Division, it was Theo Humphrey of Greenwich, CT who took home the first place trophy. Humphrey played extremely well throughout the tournament by posting an even-par round 72 on Saturday, followed by a 76 on Sunday. Second place honors went to Frank Szucs of Brookside, NJ. Szucs fired a final-round 73 to finish the tournament at 151. Kyle Sterbinsky of Yardley, PA came in third place with a weekend total of 156. # IJGT #
