provided by him/herself, must have been previously inspected by the Equipment Control Section.<br />

MOTION 17:<br />

Rule 5.7 : Schedule of the Event<br />

Reasons: 1.Clarification/guidance 2.To allow athletes to complete the course 3.The scoring system/programme<br />

allows for the time to be added at the end of the competition.<br />

5.7.1 Warming up, Zeroing and Preparation Time<br />

i) Pentathletes have 20 minutes for the Combined Event warm up. After the Shooting Director gives<br />

permission to go to the shooting position, the athletes are allowed to go there and prepare all the<br />

material, but they are not allowed to take the pistol out of the box.<br />

Pistols can only be taken out of their box after the Command - “20 minutes warming-up - Start”. If the<br />

zeroing targets are placed on the real target the 20 minute warm up must be divided into two sessions:<br />

5 minutes on the zeroing/paper targets, 1’ minute break to change the targets, 15’ minutes on the<br />

normal target.<br />

5.7.2 xii) When the pentathlete is lapped by the competition leader, their combined event is terminated. In this<br />

case they will be ranked in the last position. In case more than one pentathlete is lapped, the first<br />

pentathlete lapped will be placed last and the second pentathlete lapped will be placed in the<br />

penultimate place and so on. This rule is not applicable in Individual Competitions which involve a<br />

Team Event at the same time.<br />

xiii) In case the points are more than those of a pentathlete, or pentathletes, who were not lapped, there<br />

will be an adjustment to the points.<br />

5.7.3 iii) Pentathletes with a handicap after the previous events of more than 2 minutes 30 seconds will start<br />

in a pack start. However, in the final lap they are required to stop at the “last penalty area” for the<br />

difference in the time of 2.30 and their handicap.<br />

vii) The Announcer will announce “10 minutes” and “5 minutes” left of the warming up of the combined<br />

event;<br />

The Announcer will declare warming up on the shooting range finished and the range is closed. Two<br />

(2) minutes prior to the start, All the pentathletes must go to the start area and the Starter/Starter<br />

Assistants will begin lining up the pentathletes.<br />

One minute prior to the start, all the pentathletes must be at the corresponding gates and in the order<br />

of their start time.<br />

ix) In all <strong>UIPM</strong> Category “A” Competitions video recording is compulsory at the start/finish line.<br />
