Case Study 4: Ensuring uptake of assessment findings in local policy-making: The role of a local elected government official (continued) results in order to put forward new legislation.They simply saw an opportunity to apply the evidence produced by the assessment to promote new policies that had already received public support, given the participation of local stakeholders in the assessment,. After the assessment, Davron initiated the establishment of a cross-sector committee in the local assembly on local governance reforms. The first task of the committee was to prepare a local governance strategy based on the recommendations of the assessment. Realizing the potential that the assessment could yield for the future, the committee also decided that similar exercises would be conducted on an annual basis – as an input in the evaluation of the implementation of the local governance strategy. 42 UNDP Oslo Governance Centre
